Here is the first PS3 game being 100% emulated and working on RPCS3

YouTube’s ‘Predator’ has shared a video, showcasing  Dead Space Extraction being perfectly emulated on the best PS3 emulator, RPCS3. As we can see, there are still some performance issues that will be hopefully improved in future versions of the RPCS3. Still, the fact that this emulator can perfectly run a PS3 game speaks volumes about its progress. Enjoy!

      1. they cant? funny i was playing the kingdom hearts series as well as a bunch of .hack and shin megami games on it perfectly fine

        1. The pcsx2 emulator has been running great overall I give it that, I hope they fix out some issues that some games have, like fatal frame and silent Hill origins. Ironically in fatal frame, if you use hardware settings, you can’t see the ghosts 😛

    1. I suppose IF you ignore the FACT that the game drops down to 10fps ALOT, and the FACT that its not really a PS3 game its a PORT of a Wii game…..Let me know when something specifically designed for PS3 is actually being emulated not a multiplat which probably has alot of the other consoles codes Frankensteined into it or a remastered port of a Wii game…..

    1. Considering it computes about as fast as my stomach churns farts out of tacos, I’m not too surprised.

    1. PC = eventually, you can play everything. Console = stuck with what they give you. LOL, but you already know this.

Good luck waiting on Killing Floor, ARMA 3, CSGO, the new Unreal Tournament, Star Citizen, the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games, the first Witcher, the X games, and literally countless strategy games, RPGs and simulators (that incidentally make the best of PC gaming) to release on your crappy dumboxes.

      1. You geniuses seem to neglect when fapping about your PC some simple little FACTS…..Console = stick game in day one works perfectly all the time. PC= Might look better than consoles BUT Maybe works day one, maybe have to mess with settings for 30 minutes to get the game to function, maybe doesn’t crash to the desktop 50 times in a night….Its called ease of access,

PC geniuses don’t seem to actually grasp alot more people play on console because of ease of access….On top of the actual adults who have actual careers not just mommy and daddy buy all the PC parts, actually might just work 12-14hr days on PCs managing networks and don’t actually give even a squirt of piss that the PC version will look better because they would rather not spend that 12-14 hrs on a PC just to come home and try to relax on a PC, people with real jobs and real careers still see that as working even if it actually isnt…..

        1. “Stick game in day one, works perfectly all the time” Yeah, in the PS2 days. From PS3 on, consoles are also getting not only day 1 patches but also firmware updates. If your PC meets the game’s minimum requirements it’ll work on day 1, except maybe on extreme cases of really bad ports like Arkham Knight. So much for your “FACTS”.

As for your assumption that “a lot more people play on console” LOL where the hell did you come up with that. It’s impossible to come up with accurate numbers, but it’s blatantly obvious there are A LOT more players on PC.

And your ‘argument’ that people prefer to play on consoles because they are hard working blokes with ‘real jobs and real careers’ swinging 12-14 hour shifts, hahaha please…

    2. Now i get it, you dont have any games, thats why you keep coming here, you dont have any games on your pathetic peasantboxes.

Heck you dont even have backwards compability AHAHHAHAHHAHHHA

  1. I was convinced we’d never see a PS3 emulator with how complex the cell processor was. Glad the genius community proved me wrong. One day well see my dream of Demon’s Souls at 60 fps realized.

    1. The cell processor isn’t incredibly complex, it’s just very different from x86 which means huge overhead for emulating it, we’ve finally hit the computing power threshold to make it viable.

      1. Funny, cause computing power of CPU’s has been stagnant for 6 years. Unless you are saying emulators can use multiple cores now?

    2. You do actually have the common sense to realize that this is nothing to actually be excited about right? Its a port of a Wii game, hell ALL of the “PS3” games that get emulated are multiplats that have atleast 1 other version to Frankenstein code from or remastered ports of a super weak Wii system…..Lets be excited when something that was actually developed and designed to run EXCLUSIVELY on the PS3 is actually emulated….

  2. This is awesome. Granted, I own a PS3 now (got the 40 GB FAT model used for about 25 euros, it was a steal :D), but that doesn’t mean I’m not looking forward to how this emulator will progress.

    1. It’sfunny, I own a PS3 and I never play it ( my wife uses the TV), but I want this emulator so much to play games I actually already own.

    2. How is your PS3 going to matter when we’re going to be able to emulate the games at much higher resolutions and framerates on PC?

        1. They are still releasing last gen exclusives? I said what the fück is going to be the point of keeping his PS3 and playing on it when in a couple of years we’ll have vastly superior emulation on PC.

          1. No you don’t understand. The guy said he got the console for a steal. Perhaps he was interested in the exclusives such as Uncharted but never played it due to not wanting to waste money on a console.

      1. It’s not going to matter. PS3 emuIation isn’t stable yet, it will be but not now. I just wanted to play some games I couldn’t find on PC. That’s it. Keep in mind I got mine for real cheap and I don’t use PSN, because I don’t need it. Plus used PS3 games are really cheap now. 😀

Am I console peasent because of this? If so, I am sorry I have betrayed you my bretheren. I will hand over my PC Master Race badge and never again desecrate this holy place.

        1. You seem really insecure, because I do not understand how you got “Am I a console peasant” out of my comment.

          1. Probably because you took his comment about owning a ps3 and compared it to the gloriousness of PC ownership. Idk, just a hunch I have.

  3. Let’s not get our hopes up too much. IIRC this game is pretty-much a straight Wii port – given that the Wii’s CPU and PS3’s Cell PPE core share the same architecture, it probably isn’t using any of the SPE cores, which means it’s going to be much easier to emulate than most of the PS3’s catalogue.

In layman’s terms, it won’t be using any of the parts of the PS3’s architecture that actually present a challenge to emulate.

  4. I see a lot of PC master race here. I bet you all support the developers by not pirating amiright? Because well lets face it your not peasants you have a pc and all the consoles like i do. (probably not though because the consoles are not good enough and the games suck any way but im going to pirate it any way so i can play it and not enjoy or support the developer Sad face. 90% of the Master race)
