Here are 47 minutes of PC gameplay footage from Mafia Remake

2K Games has lifted the preview embargo for Mafia Remake, and GameRiot has shared a video showing 47 minutes of PC gameplay footage. Mafia Definitive Edition is a remake of the first Mafia game, and will be using the Mafia 3 engine.

Mafia Definitive Edition will release on September 25th. The game will expand its story to give insights into characters we only got to glimpse in the original game. Furthermore, the game will feature a larger Lost Heaven to explore, motorcycles as a new vehicle type, collectibles to seek out and more.

It’s also worth noting that 2K Games will release a new trailer for Mafia Remake at gamescom: Opening Night Live. To be honest, though, this upcoming gameplay trailer will be pointless. I mean, below you can already find 47 minutes of PC gameplay footage on Max Settings.

Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

  1. Tommy in the original had an aura of class and distinction, now he’s a generic italian thug like you said.

    1. Because it’s set in the 30’s after population decimation of World War One and before the 50’s Boomers popped out a billion more kids?

The game’s probably got a fraction of the budget of GTA4 so they have to cut corners.

  2. “The game will expand its story to give insights into characters…”
The big question is whether the SJWs at Hangar 13 will have resisted injecting their politics into that element of the game. I note that the official website states,

    – “In the original, Sarah… doesn’t get very much screen time. We wanted her to appear more often…”

    – “its few honest policemen”

    – “Chinatown… a population representative of the era’s Chinese communities”

    – “Topics you might overhear being discussed on the streets… Prohibition and The New Deal to Hoover and FDR, all through the lens of the economic ruin and societal hardship brought on by The Great Depression”

      1. Those four points may have already checked off the following SJW tickboxes,

        – stunning and brave wahmen!
        – Antifa agenda
        – muh representation
        – capitalism, democracy and Western civilisation bad

    1. Why would Hangar 13 stop themselves from injecting their agenda? Forcing their current world view into the games is one of their main priorities.
      They never cared about Mafia.

  3. Screw this crap. Blurry, soapy graphics, empty streets with few NPCs who are so inadequate it’s not even funny, the voice-overs are abysmal. Paulie was never such a douche in relation to Ralphie which is why the latter never needed to threaten the former with cutting his break line.

The character models are wooden as Pinocchio (that kiss the Don gives to Tommy is a good indication as well as pedestrian movements). All in all it’s just a shameful unapologetic cash-grab that’s trying to capitalize on what made the original great.

  4. The introductory section was enough to make me angry.
You have to lose the cars with the cab by driving to “cutscene points in the map” instead of forcing the AI crashing with obstacles in the road with some skillful driving coming from the player like in the original (also the AI was relentless, even unfair…here they look as complex as the ghosts in Pacman).
What a disgrace, talking about dumbed down modernization.

    1. Dumbed down and everyone will still praise it because it’s accessible and plays like every other insipid generic cover shooter and Open World Game.
