Gamescom 2025 Gameplay Trailer Released for Neo Berlin 2087

Elysium Game Studio has released the Gamescom 2025 gameplay trailer for its upcoming game, Neo Berlin 2087. This gameplay trailer will give you a glimpse at the improvements the team has made in the past year.

Neo Berlin 2087 will let you play in both first-person and third-person views. It will use Unreal Engine 5 and promises a deep, movie-like detective story set in a dark future version of Berlin. Players will uncover a huge conspiracy while going on an emotional Cyberpunk adventure about justice, friendship, love, guilt, sacrifice, and betrayal.

In this game, you play as Detective Nolan. Nolan can discover the truth in ways most people can’t. He has a special skill for reading human behavior and finding clues to solve cases. He can even hack into suspects’ minds to gather important information. Every emotion, thought, and memory is another piece of the puzzle to bring justice and uncover hidden secrets.

Now, I want to make it crystal clear that this is an indie game. Despite its great graphics, this isn’t a new triple-A game. Take for instance the voices. They sound a amateur-ish. So, make sure to temper your expectations. This will NOT blow you away. This is a double-A title. And you know what? I really don’t mind that.

From what I’ve seen, the game is influenced by Deus Ex and Max Payne. For instance, it features slow-motion effects in third-person, similar to those in Max Payne. The cyberpunk setting will also remind players of Deus Ex. And, since we won’t be getting a new Deus Ex anytime soon, this game might help fill that gap.

To its credit, the devs have shared numerous gameplay trailers for it. So, this doesn’t feel like it will turn out like MindsEye. Or at least that’s the impression I get.

What’s also funny is that a lot of gamers have been asking for this type of games. But, I can guarantee you that a lot will surface with comments like “Awful voices”, “UE asset flip”, “this looks amateur”, “Deus Ex from Netflix”, etc. I call these fake gamers. They will keep complaining about everything. In fact, before Clair Obscur became a darling, most of them were calling it “woke sh!t”, “trash”, “just an average game, nothing great about it”. I’m not kidding. You can find such comments even in our old Clair Obscur articles. But I guess that’s to be expected in 2025. Everyone wants to be the next big “influencer“.

There is still no ETA on when Neo Berlin 2087 will come out. The devs haven’t shared its PC requirements either.

Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

    1. One of the modes has be the optional one, you cannot do both with the same level of polish, and while it's easy to implement an FP view for TP game, a TP view for a FP game require extra work on animations that isn't easy and not cheap, not to mention it could have a negative effect on balancing, for example Dishonored can be much more easy on TP and make some mechanics like leaning completely useless.

  1. Awful voices, UE asset flip, this looks amateur, Deus Ex from Netflix, woke sh!t, trash, just an average game, nothing great about it.

  2. Having bad facial animations in your a game is one thing, but having the confidence to zoom into those bad facial animations in a trailer is another, what's really laughable and also worrying with this game is how the devs seem to have total confidence in it

  3. I will not 'temper my expectations', and the harder they try to grab my attention, the harder I'll ignore them. On games from plucky up-and-coming indie and AA developers, I've probably played more than you this year. But those weren't using UE5 and weren't trying to imitate AAA cinematic normie garbage, so they obviously never got articles.

  4. The part that sealed the game was the end of the clip. Guy runs up and stabs from behind. What a terrible set of animations.

  5. If I was to make a game, this be it(Fear+maxpayne+neuromancer). wonder how the 3rd/fps dual perspective will play out, seems like a BIG task for a smaller studio to pull off. Yet more slo-mo dives are always appreciated. added to top 10 "Excite" list.
