Death Stranding 2 feature

First gameplay trailer for Death Stranding 2

Kojima Productions has just released the first gameplay trailer for Death Stranding 2. This trailer focuses on the game’s story. As such, it contains spoilers for the first Death Stranding game. So, be sure to avoid it if you haven’t played it yet.

Death Stranding 2 has been initially announced for PS5, however, we are certain that the game will find its way to PC. After all, we already got the first Death Stranding game (which also supported PC-only features like AMD FSR 2, Intel XeSS and NVIDIA DLSS 2). In other words, it’s just a matter of “when” and not of “if.”

Death Stranding 2 will be using the Decima Engine, and promises to feature better graphics than its predecessor. This is a current-gen only game, so it won’t be held back by old-gen hardware.

Kojima Productions has also added a subtitle to the game. DS2 will be now called Death Stranding 2: On The Beach. The company has also revealed that the game will come out in 2025.

Sadly, we don’t know yet when this game will hit the PC. We also don’t know whether it will be timed-exclusive on PS5 or not. As soon as we know, will be sure to update this article. Until then, enjoy the trailer!

  1. This guy Norman Reedus has made a fortune from his role in The Walking Dead. He started off the series as a redneck idiot hot-head but somehow morphed into a core part of TWD and became a character who cared about everyone. Now he has is own TWD spinoff which is silly as hell. I doubt it will see very many seasons. Working on being a character model in 2 games so far. It’s amazing what Hollywood can do with a former nobody.

    1. All a redneck needs is the holly-platform and they’re set for life.

      I wouldn’t call 25 large ones a fortune tho.

          1. Not entirely, and all they can do today is remakes of… you guessed it, Kojima games and some crappy Silent Hill games.

          2. they make more from pachinko than they did from games, and they do mostly ports with outsourced remakes

  2. This looks AWFUL!

I hated the first game because it was a FedEx delivery simulator. But at least the cutscenes looked half decent.

This trailer doen’t just show more moronic walking simulator gameplay, it also has awful cutscenes.

  3. now you can pew pew while walking and delivering …
Decima engine does look pretty good though
Kojima is also returning to Action Espionage genre, as was announced. 40 years in video game production … damn

    1. i always see casuals praise this because “its not another game where you go around killing things!” as if there already isn’t much better options for that

      1. It’s actually the casuals who dislike it often arbitrarily because shooting and killing things aren’t the core gameplay

          1. It actually has a lot of action. I was stupid and listened internet morons saying its just walking simulator so i initially skipped it. Then got it on EGS for free so i decided to test it and guess what? Its not walking simulator and its actually fun and good game and it has a lot of combat.

        1. no real way to measure it, I’ve had co workers who otherwise don’t really game praise it for being a walking simulator

          1. “No real way to measure it”
That’s what you should’ve said first, because while there are casuals who think they’re doing a walk in a park in this game they’re absolutely wrong, the game can be really challenging and most casual cannot assimilate its deep mechanics and cannot even use its interface.
And there are people hating it and calling it walking simulator just because they either played the prologue and made their point or just followed whatever thing the masses said about it, and that’s where people should ask themselves, if the masses say TLOU2 and Horizon ZD are fantastic games, and some more “experienced” gamers here in DSOG don’t like these 2 games and don’t believe the masses, why all in the sudden they believe the masses for Death Stranding ?

  4. Nope. I have learned my lesson from DS1. I bought that on a heavy discount just to find out if there was something interesting. Never gonna buy any Kojima trash. 50% of them are cutscenes, 15% of them are gun battles & the rest % of them are mediocre traversal trash.

    1. ok nice for you, go buy your average ubisoft game assasin creed or call of duty and let us play this masterpiece !

      1. They’re first to complain about the lack of originality but when an original game comes, they don’t like it because in fact they can’t move from their comfort zone. Publishers know what they’re doing by holding their ground and doing copy-pastes sh*t for decades.

      2. Call of Trash & Ubitrashes? Mate, your tastebud really needs some serious reality check the way you have even mentioned the names!!!

  5. I couldn’t take more than a couple hours of the first one, cutscenes mostly, a movie game and the cringey in game ads and such. Even free it was gone pretty quickly. This honestly just looks like they took everything from the first one and made some more sets to stumble through. Shat out some more turd for those who love eating it.

  6. This trailer is cool, Kojima still can bring some fresh weirdness, thank God i’m not that cynic. I wonder if Kojima is all that is left of the japanese branch of Sony…

  7. If I wish AI could control one series, it would be Death Stranding. I dont mind looking over my shoulder from time to time to see some cut-scene play out but thats about it. I played the first one for roughly 4 hours and I was so done with the walking. I like games that innovate but this was too much of a stretch, even for Kojima, he should know that this just lazy and stretching ‘walking’ out like that is just mind numbing.

  8. The 1st game is perhaps the only original and unique thing that happened to the AAA branch of the 8th generation, doesn’t give a fck about the political and gaming trends and being an experience on its own, even if you don’t like this game, you should be thankful for its existence, it’s the reminiscence of the pre-7th generation where AAA games used to do the maximum to stand out, and i fcking respect that

      1. Wrong, its gameplay is deeper and richer than most AAA games of the decade, and its open world has a real sense of level design and it’s not just a an open big map like most Open World games, most people who say it’s an interactive movie only played the prologue or are just one of these zombies following whatever the masses said

    1. yeah so much poeple cryed blablabla walking sim blablabla
but it so nice to finally have a game that doesn’t look like a copy paste of an other game

  9. Always enjoyable to have games that doesn’t rely on “go here, murder this and that”. The whole industry haven’t found a solution yet to solve that gamedesign/-play problem.
Optimal pacing will be the key again.

  10. Hi Neat post Theres an issue together with your web site in internet explorer may test this IE still is the marketplace chief and a good component of people will pass over your fantastic writing due to this problem

  11. Its so stupid and cheese i LOVE IT. Kojima may be overrated but he is only one aside from Fromsoftware that still delivers good games that are actual games.

  12. remember the story is nothing more than a philosphical psychological journey with many divided paths and take on life.
