Rockfish has released a new pre-alpha gameplay trailer for its upcoming space shooter, Everspace. Everspace is powered by Unreal Engine 4 and aims to deliver “state-of-the-art effects with breath-taking explosions and PhysX simulations for extended destruction of the environment.” Enjoy!

Windows 10???? Only??? Don’t like this…
Yeah, shame but DX12 is a thing of the future. Better than being held back by old tech.
I know MS could’ve enabled DX12 for Windows 7/8 and didn’t do that on purpose, but game developers can’t change their shameful move.
What I don’t like is when something is forced on me! And we have lots of things to take note lately! Games requirement for always online! Nvidia forcing GFE for updating drivers, MS will soon force us to play games only on Win10 because of DX12. I am not satisfied from what I’ve seen with Win10 so far, privacy issues, elimination of control panel. I mean Win 7/8 are not windows XP to be left out for a new game release for crying out loud! MS in the name of this future tech is “forcing” us to upgrade to Win10. I am a gamer but also I want to be a conscious consumer.
In Win10 you have Control Panel :).
But yeah, that forcing it’s screwed up… And we can’t do anything about it.
Not in the near future.. Haven’t heard? Microsoft wants to “kill” Control Panel. Yeap the control panel we use since 1987. Specifically Brandon LeBlanc said that he hasn’t used CP in months and he uses Settings app. Its like he speaks for the majority of the users out there! And yes we can man, just stop supporting them. If the consumer can’t then who can? We BUY their products! Its like here in Greece everyone complains about our politicians but its the people that keep voting for them they didn’t become government by arms!
New app is worse than Control Panel because it’s monochromatic and thus less legible (for example, in CP you could know at first glance that you were looking at a globe or a monitor, now it’s harder). Despite of that, I don’t even need to look at those icons because I search for everything I want (for example “sensitivity”) and select the setting I want to change, so it won’t hurt much.
i have not used control panel at all ever since i got the first insider build of win 10. I forgot about it until i saw this post.
You and LeBlanc dude.. 😛 The vast majority of users around the web hate this idea because they use control panel instead.
i had no need for it, things just worked. Plus the right click menu on the start button makes getting to the control panel and most used options easier than in previous versions. I used the setting menu after install to customize everything and after that i had no need for it. I can see why they would want to get rid of it, i don’t care either way. The settings tab does it’s job but it could have a way better look even using the metro style.
You can force games on windows 10 only if the developer is lazy enough, or gets paid enough, to develop only for win 10. With steam OS on the way and Vulkan, its very unlikely EVERY game will be like that. However exclusives have always been a thing.
it will go out in steam eventualy.
Windows 10 only can also be on steam you know, because steam runs on windows 10.
Steam is also on Linux and mac. Not to mention UE4 is very compatible with Linux and mac. Its up to the developers to set their stuff straight. You know Linux and mac have their exclusives, right? Ever heard of Desura? Don’t be so freaked out about an xbox game being windows centric, its built off a custom DX11.1 API for crying out loud.
If the game lives up to the trailer then I’m sold. Been waiting on a freelancer type game for ages!
galaxy on fire 2. better than freelancer.
Elite, Everspace, Star Citizen, No Man’s Sky… I don’t think I’ll be able to play any game set in solid ground anymore. 0.o
OT: Amazing trailer! It feels so fluid… *drools*
Have you played Rebel Galaxy, it’s kind of an arcadey version of Elite.
Not yet, I was about to read/watch reviews this week but my internet kept bugging out. -.-
Are you playing it? If so, gimme the goodies 😀
This game continues to impress.
looks nice, but for me infinity battlescape looks the best, it feels more realistic and more space like.
Infinity: Battlescape does look good, but that game most likely wont be out until 2018 while Everspace is out next year.
you can play early builds if you back this up on ks. I am sure when the first build is available it will get torrented.
Looking forward to the beta test next year!
