Crimson Desert feature-2

Crimson Desert gets three new Gamescom 2024 trailers, showing 18 minutes of gameplay

A couple of days ago, Pearl Abyss released a gameplay trailer for Crimson Desert. And today, we are happy to share three additional trailers, packing 18 minutes of gameplay in total. So, make sure to check them out.

These new three gameplay trailers show off three boss fights. As such, we get to see the Reed Devil, the Queen Stoneback Crab, and the Staglord Boss Battles.

Crimson Desert is an open-world action-adventure game. The game promises to have vibrant storytelling and intense action, with realistic characters and narratives that revolve around the members of the Greymane Free Company fighting to achieve their noble mission.

Players will experience the beautiful yet brutal continent of Pywel, where you will witness the conflicts and epic sagas surrounding Kliff, the leader of the Greymanes, as his mission takes him on an unforgettable journey.

As I’ve said, although the game looks great, it does not look as mind-blowing as it did a few years ago. I also went ahead and took a look at the first gameplay trailer that came out in 2020. And, to be honest, I don’t see a big downgrade. The game looks similar to that trailer. Not only that but thanks to the latest GPUs, it can now run smoothly. I mean, look at that framerate in the 2020 trailer. Yikes.

In short, this isn’t a “Watch_Dogs” downgrade. However, most of the current-gen games have a more advanced lighting system. And perhaps I’ve been spoiled by RTGI and Unreal Engine 5’s Lumen.

There is still no official ETA on when the game will come out. According to reports, the game will be released on PC and consoles in Q2 2025. So, it will be a while until we get our hands on it.

Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

        1. The average game coming out in Korea and Japan is a mobile gacha game where virgins throw money at 2D sprites.

"The West", on average, makes much better and more innovative games with better stories and a more fair business model.

And if you're a Westerner yourself, maybe stop your self-deprecation, it's utterly pathetic to see some Westerners with such low self-esteem.

We make better games than Asia. Much better games.

        2. The average game coming out in Korea and Japan is a mobile gacha weeb game where virgins throw money at 2D sprites.

"The West", on average, makes much better and more innovative games with better stories and a more fair business model. The West has a massive indie game scene, nothing of the sorts exists in either Japan or Korea.

And if you're a Westerner yourself, maybe stop your self-deprecation and stop listening to stupid alt-right Youtubers.

We make better games than Asia. Much better games. BG3 makes Zelda and Genshin look like games made by preschoolers.

        3. The traitor you are responding to has fled from his country and plays video games instead of defending it.

      1. many commenters on this site think Japanese, Korean etc people are all under the umbrella term "chinese".

    1. It's Pearl Abyss.

If you have a life, you should stay away from anything Nexon, Pearl Abyss, and frankly any game from South Korea. It's all MMO, live-service, microtransaciton, addictive, trash. Most PC gamers should know this by now.

    2. It's Pearl Abyss. If you have a life, you should stay away from anything Nexon, NCSoft, Pearl Abyss, etc.

The only games South Korea makes are addictive MMO and live-service trash full of microtransactions. Most PC gamers should know this by now.

  1. It's giving me serious Middle earth + Witcher 3 vibes & I'm gonna ignore the minor issues with the hefty amount of positives this game has. It's really ambitious and trying something fresh in the genre and I love it.

  2. Lumen doesn't look any better than typical ray traced gi yet costs just as much the same performance or worse with visual flaws that can only be solved by enabling hardware ray tracing anyway. There's nothing groundbreaking or enticing about lumen.

    1. The problem with Lumen is it doesn't take advantage of RT cores which made sense 3 or 4 years ago but not anymore with every GPU now having some form of RT cores and those without RT Cores reaching their End of Life.

A hardware solution will almost always beat a software solution which is why every GPU has a hardware video encoder built in instead of a software CPU solution for encoding

  3. I hope there is a volume control for the footsteps, that's just annoyingly loud.

I'm naturally light footed being half Sioux so loud footsteps breaks immersion for me
