Brothers A Tale of Two Sons Remake feature

Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons – Original vs Remake Early Graphics Comparison

A couple of days ago, 505 Games revealed the remake of Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons. This remake will be powered by Unreal Engine 5, and below you can find an early graphics comparison video between the original version and the remake.

Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons originally came out on Xbox 360, PC and PS3, and it was powered by Unreal Engine 3. And, as we can see, the remake looks like a generation step above it. Everything, from the characters to the hair rendering and the environments, looks better in the remake.

Since Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons Remake will be using Unreal Engine 5, I don’t know whether it will take advantage of Nanite and Lumen. Regardless of that, this appears to be a great remake. The game will also retain all of the gameplay elements of the original. In fact, it will play exactly the same with it. The only difference is that there will be even more secrets for you to discover. Gameplay-wise, though, it will be the same.

Now as we all know, Naughty Dog was heavily criticized for remaking The Last of Us. Like Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, The Last Of Us also originally came out on PS3. The key difference here, though, is that the remake looks miles better than the original. Just look at the comparison. This is what remakes should look like; one or two steps beyond their original versions.

505 Games will release Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons Remake on February 28th!

  1. Lovely game. I hadn’t realised how aged the graphics looked. If more people get to enjoy this in enhanced form, all the better.

  2. He’s using the PS4 version of the original for comparison, which would explain why the game looks worse than it really is. On PC it looks much better, especially at 4K. And given how old this game is, a potato-tier machine by today’s standard can easily run it. When run at its best, it still holds up very well (especially thanks to the strong art direction) and further proves why this remake is completely unnecessary.

  3. There has to be more to it than a graphics facelift. That would be a remaster. A remake generally adds changes to the original game beyond just graphics improvement. Sometimes it even brings changes to the story itself.

I read the part about discovering new surprises but what about new levels or remade levels? Added quests? My impression of this effort is that it’s a little flimsy for them to be calling it a remake.

    1. They’re probably going to censor or change it in some way because Anita got mad at the game back in the day.

      1. I see. Well, if it’s going to be a new entry in the Politically Correct infestation of games then I will give it a hard pass on that alone. I don’t want any more of that agenda shoved in my face in games. It has no place in games imo.
