The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom feature

Behold Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom running in 4K/60fps on an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has just been released and as we’ve already reported, PC gamers can already enjoy it at native 4K resolutions with 60fps. And below, you can find two videos, showcasing the game running smoothly on an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090.

Currently, both Yuzu and Ryujinx can launch and run the game. And while the game is locked at 30fps, there is already a 60fps Mod that you can download for it.

Now as you will see, you’ll need a really powerful CPU in order to run the game with 60fps. YouTube’s ‘K-O-Haj’ has used an Intel Core i9 13900KF and in numerous scenes, Yuzu was constantly hammering its main CPU core/thread. During those scenarios, the framerate could drop to the mid-50s. However, and for the most part, the game already runs with 60fps.

In theory, an AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D could potentially provide better results. Future versions of Yuzu and Ryujinx will also – obviously – improve overall performance.

Now in case you didn’t know, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has numerous drops to 20fps on the Nintendo Switch. As such, right now, the best way to experience the game is on a high-end PC. It’s ironic, really.

As a bonus, I’ve also included a video, showing off the game at 8K.

Enjoy!

  1. Amazing game it seems.

Hopefully Ubisoft makes a sequel to Immortals Fenyx Rising, that’s the closest game to BOTW I have played on PC.

  2. K-O-Haj may have a high end pc but he never played a game in his entire life lol. wtf

Anyway, you don’t need a high end pc to be hitting 55fps most of the time on ryujinx.

You just need a 11th gen processor and over and an RTX card.

  3. “As such, right now, the best way to experience the game is on a high-end PC. It’s ironic, really.”

Not really ironic, because Switch is a portable console, just a little bigger than a phone, no way to compare to a desktop PC.

    1. yeah? And Nintendo fixed it with AMD’s FSR. Everybody has the internet… get the patch no problems.

  4. Zelda games are insanely overrated, i don’t see anything new or that other games didn’t do it before.
Messing with the game world is not a plus its a huge minus, im not looking for minecraft but for RPG.
Most people that play and fanboy for zelda/pokemon are the same crowd that sits alone in high schools and gets his lunch money taken away, never invited to parties in college and goes to chess club in university, then marries a purple head that talks down to him and makes him wash dishes and do the laundry.
    Sad pathetic people.

        1. I mean you’re the one making assumptions here on the type of people that play the games. No better show of projection and patheticness than that.

  5. PC gamers can already enjoy it at native 4K resolutions with 60fps.

You mean PC gamers can steal it. I’m not anti piracy and have it on PC and Switch, but call it like it is.
