Batman: Arkham Knight is considered by many as one of the best-looking games that Rocksteady released. And, since Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is now out, YouTube’s ‘NikTek’ shared a comparison video between them.
This video highlights the artistic differences between these two games. For instance, Batman: Arkham Knight on rain and reflections. On the other hand, Suicide Squad does not take advantage of these tricks. As a result, the city in Arkham Knight looks better and less flat than the one in Suicide Squad.
I should also note that these games are not identical (in terms of gameplay). Batman: Arkham Knight is an action adventure brawler, whereas Suicide Squad is a looter shooter GaaS. I’m saying this because, at one point, the YouTuber did a disservice to Suicide Squad. Instead of using its shooting mechanics (at 2:41), NikTek spammed a simple melee combat. That’s not an honest comparison and shows a clear bias towards Batman: Arkham Knight. I mean, if you want to compare the gameplay of these two games, then at least show them at their best. Do not deliberately try to make a game look worse as it will immediately make you look like an idiot.
As I’ve said before, I’m not a fan of this new Suicide Squad game. However, these past few days, I’ve seen a lot of people suddenly using this game as their punching bag. People are suddenly upset about certain events that happen to Batman in this game. And I’m like “Seriously now? We’ve known the game’s subtitle for over a year. What did you expect?” If you were against the idea of this Suicide Squad game, you should have expressed it the moment Warner Bros announced it, and not now that it’s “cool” and “trendy” and “acceptable” to hate on this game.

bg3 looks disgusting to me, i dont like medieval rpgs or larian because their writing is a joke, as it is literally a joke they take everything as a jokem bg3 is no different, people lose their sht over bg3 but its not that great, its just that in an era that every rpg is a looter shooter, bg3 actually has choices in it, wow…amazing, but the rest of the game isnt great, its a crpg with looney dialogues, a pretty meh combat system and a story that collapses in the second half. Act 3 feels like its written by a completely different team, because it does, but of course most people didnt get so far. Lies of P is the one souls clone that actually does it better than from software, i laugh at people amazed that all my criticisms of dark souls were ignored but now someone does it, they are amazed, cant dissagree with lies of p though, out of all the souls clones its the best, but when it comes to elden ring, LMAO, stop lying to yourselves guys, the game is nothing amazing, its dark souls but open world, it recycles the same assets and bosses all over, its too repetitive, dark souls but open world isnt something impressive, sure you got a horse but you still cant swim, most of the game as far as combat and upgrade system and weapons is exactly the same as dark souls 3. When it comes to hi fi rush, i dont get it, its a rhythm game what is go great about it? Dave the diver is your typical indie grindfest game but its not indie, i think its good because i like underwater stuff but doesnt change its a typical repetitive indie game like many others like say graveyard keeper. When it comes to like a dragon, its yakuza but a turn based jrpg, the side stuff look more fun than most of if not all AAA open world games but this is how yakuza games always were. But when it comes to atomic heart. That game is trash, is the ray tracing implemented yet? Nope, So what is the game about? Its a western game written by redditors made by russians in cyprus, it has god awful writing and the combat is broken trash with enemies respawning and it has trash underground bunker level design, the idea that this game is anywhere near as good as say prey from 2017 is laughable. So yeah no idea where you going with this, turbo overkill was one of the best fps ever though.
BG3 – I can understand the dislike for the camp and tropes, I liked it a lot.
Lies of P – Man, its really crazy. I had given up on souls-likes ever being as good as the original games till this one raised that bar. I really liked DS3 but I think I’ll end up replaying Lies of P really soon.
Elden Ring – yeah it kinda just does dark souls but x5 but I think its cool that its able to keep a consistent level of quality over such a sustained period.
Hi-Fi Rush – it was fine but a lot of people liked it.
Dave the Diver – my friends won’t shut up about it.
Like a Dragon – yeah its pretty good even the more recent ones that came out last year.
Atmoic heart – I liked the gameplay and the story was pretty interesting like right before they get to the lighthouse and it really turns up the bioshock fan game impression.
My point was that there are plenty of good games even recently that arent just devoid of talent even if you may not have the best opinion of them.

that’s fair, but a 7 is still a positive score. I definitely agree that more depth and choice allows for greater immersion and experiences in these games. Pathfinder and Rogue Trader are two I plan to check out in the future.

my problem NikTek and what I have recently noticed with crowbcat is how biased they can be. Like there are tons of reasons to take shots at Suicide Squad and WB but the game doesnt look like that much of a regression in terms of visuals and gameplay, but like you state in the article the art direction is focused in other places from the atmosphere that the arkham trilogy goes for. The issue are the GaaS practices that are really making this a sour release. The comparison is just so devoid of context and also not showing the settings or mods that might be running on one of the games. I guess the rage bait gets clicks for people like him crowbcat now though.
The new Suicide Squad game is so much better. It looks so colorful and homosexual-friendly.

Knowing WB they’ll implement so much wokeness and female empowerment that we’ll be scratching our heads as gamers. The script will be done by rainbow colored freaks and self insertion. I genuinely hope not though, I enjoyed the mordor series. Lets hope Monolith has their priorities straight and doesn’t listen to corporate game killers.

Years/decades ago we taught ourselves to code often on the most basic of hardware. Today kiddies go on a course before picking up an engine.
For me it was decades ago back in the mid 80s that I taught myself Basic and Assembly Language on a C64 and later on an IBM XT from Compute books. Programming languages were, of course, much simpler and easy to learn back then. I wrote quite a few programs and one game.
But I would be totally lost today on how to even start. I have respect for any coder today that has the knowledge, experience and most importantly the talent to code a game. Having said all of that, I think that a lot of those things are going missing today with Developers and being replaced with diversity hiring which is just sad. It’s a part of why games have become so poor for the most part imo
Web development and coding video games require very little brain capacity, you’ll only improve with time because it’s mostly a skill.
There are some ethnicities like Pakis and Indians with high incest rates and low average IQs who can’t code if their life depended on it, but I think it’s mostly because of their culture.
Around the same time as I. I use to dodge class and grab the keys for the ‘computer suite’ from the janitor allowing myself to learn via the BBC and RML 380Z. My first PC was the 1K ZX-81 and a copy of Programming the Z80 by Rodnay Zaks. A year later I had the thermal printer and 16K RAM pack.
Today you can simply grab an off the shelf engine, asset pack and start writing scripts linking one to the other.

I’ve owned PCs that were thousands and thousands of times faster than my first computer (C64) but that computer was an incredible experience for me with all that I could do with it. Especially the time before the xbox and PS2, which was a time before the internet became mainstream (a time were games had to be shipped nearly 100 % complete, without bugs, DLCs and microtransaction shiet).
But because the law of inertia, it took some years for all the negatives effects to hit the market (the global ruling elite destroying everything with their NWO: the publishers, developers, financial system, the consumers, media etc.).
I think it’s safe to say and widely accepted that all went near completely to shiet with the introduction of the era xbox one/ps4, and after that 100 % to shiet with the mobile gaming smartphone market, which is now financially bigger than the PC + console combined.

Rocksteady used to be amazing with the first 3 Batman games…best superhero games, and some of the best action games ever made!
The difference is that 9 years ago 90% of the gaming industry weren’t beholden to ESG and DEI and the devs were at their companies based on merit.
