ValveTime shared some new gameplay footage from the highly anticipated Source freeware stand-alone game, Black Mesa: Source. We are pretty sure that Half Life fans will appreciate it, so waste no time and go ahead and watch it. For those who can wait a bit, let us tell you that you will see some generic AI, a couple of low-res textures and added iron-sights for some weapons. What’s really interesting though is that the level that is being demonstrated is from the later levels of Half-Life, meaning that Black Mesa: Source is nearing completion. Oh, and did we say that both the sound effects and the music are top notch? Enjoy the trailer and stay tuned for more! Continue reading Black Mesa: Source – New Gameplay Footage→

Valve has made some changes to its Subscriber Agreement (you know, the agreement you quickly pass on when you’re registering for an account on Steam) and to be honest, we’re a bit shocked with some of them. With this new Agreement, Valve disallows class action claims, but still allows individual claims. What worries us here is the fact that Valve has managed to neuter large-scale cases from Steam users, particularly ones that might arise if the service were to ever shut down or block a mass number of users from playing a game they’d paid for. In other words, this new Agreement further proves that you’re basically renting your games on Steam. You don’t own anything. Not only that but if you decide not to agree to Valve’s binding arbitration clause, you lose all your games. Jason Forge has uploaded a new short film, based on Valve’s zombie FPS title. Seriously Left 4 Dead shows some footage of what is said to be the remains of 3 individuals on there short live journey through a highly infected zone outside of Savannah, Georgia. As with most fan-made live action short films, it looks cool. It’s not Hollywood quality but what can we say, we love this type of films. So go ahead and enjoy the film!
