Vampire The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 new screenshots-2

Unreal Engine 5-powered Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 looks amazing in these latest screenshots

Paradox Interactive and The Chinese Room have released a bunch of new screenshots for Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2. These images give us a close-up look at the game’s super-detailed, neon-lit environments that will be powered by Unreal Engine 5.

The good news is that these new screenshots look fantastic. If they’re any indication, we can assume that the game will look stunning. That’s awesome because Bloodlines 2 seemed dated when it was first shown. Now, let’s hope that it will at least run well on the PC.

In Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, you get to explore the World of Darkness and climb the ranks in the vampire world. The game takes place in Seattle, a city full of fascinating and sometimes dangerous people and groups. This sequel to the beloved classic lets you make choices that can shake up the balance of power.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 has faced a lot of development problems. It got its first delay in October 2019. Then, in August 2020, Paradox delayed it for the second time. But in February 2021, it said it was delayed indefinitely. Finally, in September 2023, the publisher stated that the game changed hands to a new developer. As such, Bloodlines 2 now targets a Fall 2024 release.

Enjoy the screenshots and stay tuned for more!

  1. Good Lord, who let The Chinese Room take point on this project? All they’ve made are a couple crappy walking simulators.

    1. British dev studio The Chinese Room was bought by Sumo Group. Sumo Group has since been acquired by Tencent.

So, another reason to not buy this game then!

  2. does that graffiti in screenshot 1 say ACAB? if so, that’s cringe and tells you the kind of narrative they are going with

      1. Yes, if you spend a lot of time finishing hardwood flooring with a high gloss oil finish you get that type of reflection.

However, this is supposed to represent a dilapidated room that has not been cleaned in a long time, where no one expects a floor to be bright and shiny.

This is just adding reflections for no reason.

        1. Even old wood will certainly retain a level of reflectivity. And judging that shot, the room doesn’t strike me as “dilapidated.” It’s clearly a room that’s in use but by somebody not interested in keeping particularly organized. Either way, unless you want to see games featuring carpeted, dirt, or unfinished concrete flooring exclusively, there will always and expectedly be some specularity present

          1. And judging that shot, the room doesn’t strike me as “dilapidated.”

Dude, there’s toilet paper, garbage bags and worn clothes on the floor. There’s broken tiles on the floor and it has dents everywhere.

Do you live in a homeless shelter or something that this doesn’t look dilapidated to you.

It looks like a mess, yet the floor looks like a shiny bowling alley.

old wood will certainly retain a level of reflectivity

No wood looks reflective. It’s the wood finish that gives off the reflection. If you add boiled linseed, lacquer or shellac to wood it seems reflective, but it’s the finish doing that. And you need to reapply this to keep that shine, because it sinks in the wood after years.

  3. With all of the past delays I expect it will get delayed again beyond 2024. Probably until first half 2025. Maybe the 5xxx GPUs will be out by then to handle UE5 games. For now I expect a mess of a game.

I really do wish the game would turn out to be good though but as the old saying goes, “You can wish in one hand and sh*t in the other and see which hand fills up first.”

    1. That sh*t hand I tell ya… I’m with you man the games I want always gets delayed and never come out. VMB2 & stalker are the 2 AAA games that are DRM-FREE that I’ve been waiting for, as you know slim pickings over at GoG for this stuff. But just keeps getting delayed, delayed & their goes that hand filling up with sh*t. 😬😂

    2. I will play my first Unreal engine 5 game next week. Atlas Fallen. It released on August and is a action game where you fight aliens on planet that is covered with deset. Now as we see here in the benchmarks of it https://www.techpowerup.com/review/atlas-fallen-benchmark-test-performance-analysis/5.html it is well optimized and urns well

But i dont understand what is happeing this year with all those games that had technical prolbmes on release date which resulted in low sales on pc and consoles and then months to fix them.

It all started with forspoken and then we had Last of us star wars jedi survivor Gollum Immortal of avenum…..

But i have a RX 6700XT 12 GB RED DEVIL and since i got it in 2021 until now i run all games maxed 1440p 60 fps. In games who use ray tracing i use FSR to run them at max graphics and max ray tracing 60 fps while those who dont have ray tracing dont need FSR as i run them maxed 1440p 60 fps without it.

They are a few exceptions like Residnet evil 4 Remake that i finished on Saturday and it runs max graphics and max ray tracing 1440p 60 fps won RX 6700XT even without FSR https://www.techpowerup.com/review/resident-evil-4-benchmark-test-performance-analysis/4.html

      MINE MONSTER PC IS
      RYZEN 7 1700
      16 GB DDR4 3200MHZCL15
RX 6700XT 12 GB RED DEVIL
      MP 600 2TB WRITE:4950MB/S READ:4250MB.S
      DELLP2416D 24” 2560X1440 60 HZ IPS

        1. I weill see when iplay it and i wil post also some gameplay of it but it dosent look like unreal engine 3. 3 was in 2008 when we had dual core cpus ans gtx 800 graphics card and DDR2 ram. And then none of the games had such good graphoics like all unreal engine 5 games do. It needs 6700xt for max settingd 1440p 60 fps which is my card.

  4. looks decent. but ugly females, rampant feminism, forced token minorities and other reddit-tier identity politics will probably ruin the narrative to a cringy mess.

  5. I’ll pass.

The last game the TheChineseRoom released on PC was “Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture”, and it ran like absolute garbage on PC.

This will cost $60, require a $600 GPU, and performance will still suck due to Unreal Engine.

I can see it now. “Patch 5.4224.65 to fix crashes and performance issues”.

    F*** off.

  6. Looking very good, yes.
It’s not the graphics I’m worried about.
It’s the consolified pussified wokified gameplay…
