Rumour alert everyone; it appears that the first off-camera screenshot for the new Assassin’s Creed game, Assassin’s Creed: Origins, has been leaked online. Now take this with a grain of salt as nothing has been confirmed as of yet. Ubisoft declined commenting on it, so this could be the real deal.
Assassin’s Creed: Origins, previously known as Assassin’s Creed Empires, will be a vast open world experience taking place in ancient Egypt.
According to various leaks, this will be biggest Assassin’s Creed game that will feature a greater emphasis on exploration, will be less linear, will feature a character progression system less tied to the story, will let players explore ancient Egypt, will let the player to sail the Mediterranean, and will feature Naval combat.
This new Assassin’s Creed game will most likely be released this year.
Again, take this screenshot – and everything you just read – with a grain of salt!

Naval combat was one of the best features in Black Flag.
Hopefully this one can put the franchise on its rails again, I really miss a good Assassin’s Creed game.
Now with 100 extra Follow the Target Missions.
the famous fetch side missions.
The infamous follow Captain Exposition Man mission for 12 hours to get context.
Don’t be like that now, I’m sure they’ll innovate on that by having you follow the target while on a ship. Also you get spotted in a custcene after following the target stealthily for 10 minutes.
console exclusive! i’m sure
The entire AC series is on PC, dumb f*ck.
Lol
Just flag him & ignore him, at this point he’s obviously trolling.
It’d be nice if the mods banned him though =P.
I guess they just love trolls bugging their readers though.
I think they just don’t want to turn into those Banhammer-wielding sociopaths which plague other sites, protecting the delicate little flowers of the world from the horrors of the Internet.
Or, whatever, you know.
But yeah, they do need to step up their game a little. Hvd’s been plaguing us since….. 2015? I forget. He’s never been a major problem on his own, sure, but now they’re multiplying, & that’s an issue.
All I’d ask is that they remove those that seek nothing but disruption to the site and it’s users. People like him don’t want to visit the site to read and discuss, they just want to annoy other users on purpose.
He’s an admitted troll. Just block him.
R . retarded
60fps…PC exclusive I’m sure 🙂
Skipped last one. Will most likely play this one.
skipped the last 3
The same. I think Assassin’s Creed is dead with Desmond and 2012 plot.
It’s not.
for me.
Like Half Life 3.

a mix of blackflag i supposed? anyhow it’s still a boring franchise to me now unless they add in RPG elements like in AC2
We Wuz Kangs: The Video Game

You know, considering the ridiculous sci-fi elements in Assassins Creed games and the pandering in Syndicate, I wouldn’t be surprised if the game turns out to be exactly what’s in that picture.
Vagina face?
lol!!!
If they seriously make them Sub-Saharan…..
I know we live in the “Social Justice! Historical Accuracy Be Damned!” age right now, but for f*ck’s sake, the Ancient Egyptians weren’t Nubians &/or Ethiopians.
(No, they weren’t white, either)
They were pretty white, actually. The pharaos literally had light hair colors.
Yeah, but there’s a standing theory that the Nile River civilisations developed independently. That’s not to exclude outside influences, of course, just saying. For that matter, earliest Greeks were also….. “colour mixed”, with some tribes being blonde, & others darker haired.
Well, it’s like with the Greeks, there’s remnants indicating this & that, from across various centuries. Actually, there’s arguably more evidence of the Egyptians thanks to their sealed tombs, than there is of the Greeks, which is primarily just pottery designs & writings, like the Iliad.
I agree, though, sadly there’s no definitive proof of anything.
sadly there’s no definitive proof of anything.
Why does it matter? Are you trying to justify a racialist outlook or just curious?
it matters because you have some Blacks going around claiming they created everything and was “Kangs” and are re-writing known (fact based) history to fit their narrative.
They aren’t necessarily black, just SJWs.
true enough……
Curiosity. There’s a theory that Proto-Scandinavians may have made the journey down into the Balkans, either by sea or by land, & thus ended up mingling with the local populations that already existed there. If true, it’s only a “short” stop across the sea to Egypt, from there.
Not that I care about the supremacy of the “Northerners” or whatnot, but if true, it would be fascinating, considering how far they’d have had to travel, regardless of which route taken.
Either way, the origins of these earliest civilisations continue to be shrouded in mystery, with the only thing any pair of semi-capable scientists can find themselves able to agree upon is that Aliens did not build the f*cking pyramids (well, at least until Alien life is proven, at which point even that will come into doubt, I bet). Beyond that, everything is up to speculation, even the independent Nile civilisation theory.
Moses provides a Table of Nations.
Weird. I always pictured ancient Egyptians to be very dark skinned people. Doubt there’s any concrete proof of what they really looked like, but if anything the Egyptians of today probably indicate some ideas.
Oh they were definitely overwhelmingly “brown” with dark hair etc. but they weren’t Sub-Saharan “black”, so to speak. Think Turkish, Albanian, Syrian, etc. basically. As for the modern Egyptians; maybe – to a degree, at least, as it’s been 5,000 years since then, after all.
One theory pits them originating (at least in part) from Arabia, meaning they were a branch of some kind of Proto-Arabic nomad peoples which possibly intermingled with the Israelites of the age, & then settled on the Nile & started carving up stones, or some such.
Sadly the theories are endless, but there’s no definitive proof either way.
Ooh, well that’s interesting. I just learnt anyway that the lands were invaded and occupied multiple times during the BC era so in a way it would make sense if multiple civilizations have lived there temporary before being kicked or wiped out by another.
But since this game does take place during the 4000-3000 B.C. era they’re most likely gonna be telling the story of the Sumerian civilization. In just about anything literature or entertainment they’re usually depicted as very arabian looking people, like the Egyptians of today.
Ultimately I don’t think it should matter what the game chooses to depict so long it’s something the majority would have an easy time agreeing with. Considering Assassin’s Creed’s timeline, I really don’t think the game would wound up becoming that political since they tend to be as true as possible with the eras and cultures… minus the whole Assassins and Templars stuff.
“so in a way it would make sense if multiple civilizations have lived there temporary before being kicked or wiped out by another.”
Oh, definitely.
“Ultimately I don’t think it should matter what the game chooses to depict so long it’s something the majority would have an easy time agreeing with.”
Agreed. I also think they’re probably going to go with the Arab-looking Egyptians, but that right there, is the problem; If someone (anyone, really) decides to take issue with how they’re portrayed considering the current politically-charged climate, I could very easily see it escalating into a full-blown issue almost immediately, especially what with all these competing theories about them & their origins, etc.
People will always find something to complain about. Personally I don’t see it becoming a big deal since we’ve had so many movies in the past which always depicted Egyptians as whatever race. Wasn’t there a few recent movies set in ancient Egypt with predominantly caucasian leads? Dunno where all the anti-politically correct people were when those movies came about honestly. These movies most of the time depict the people from those eras to be somewhat tanned looking or quite indeed at times Sub-Saharan.
I mean I remember when I had my trip in Egypt a long time ago and checking out images online today of scultures and paintings most of the facial structure seemed to resemble those of blacks and asians. Perhaps their craftsmanship weren’t as detailed as artists today but that’s gonna be some indication at least. Either way the game should open up some interesting debates, which is never a bad thing.
“Wasn’t there a few recent movies set in ancient Egypt with predominantly caucasian leads?”
Gods of Egypt…… LOL.
I don’t mind debate, I just hope we don’t end up with something as moronic as Polygon’s “Call of Duty: WWII’s ‘diversity’ is nothing more than marketing” >.>
That’s the one. Also Exodus: Gods and Kings, I believe… And man I just found out it’s by Ridley Scott.
Oh yeah that’s to be expected. Their motives are bothering me too, they have no clue what they want. Or they know very well: which is traffic. Complain about the lack of diversity and when they get it they say it’s all forced in for the sake of profit. All without even playing the game or knowing much about it.
Oh, right, Exodus….. Hehehehe. Yeah, Ridley’s lost his touch as of the recent years, in my opinion. Remember Prometheus? And Covenant doesn’t look that much better, either, really. I’m so glad Villeneuve is doing the new Blade Runner, rather than Scott.
Well, they are right in the sense that they’re only doing it to maximise profits, but yeah, complaining about them doing it, regardless of why they’re doing it…… Yeah, I give up.
Unfortunately I’ve only seen just two of his movies which were Alien and Gladiator. I haven’t seen the all time classic James Cameroon’s Aliens just yet but I plan on getting to it at some point xP I know I’m missing out considering how people say it’s better than the first movie.
There’s a lot of recent movies I missed out on simply because I tune into older ones more but I’ll be giving some a look soon. Most people have been saying that the new Alien movie is nothing more than just a remake. Which is kind of the issue I have with some or most movies today: they seem to be nothing more than just glorified remakes with heavier use of CG.
I watched Blade Runner ages ago but forgot a lot of it honestly lol. It wasn’t boring I think but I guess I was just younger, one of those movies where the plot is the main thing that carries everything through. I don’t know what to think of the new movie, saw the new trailer yesterday and it was okay I guess? I like cyberpunk but I don’t know the plot of this new movie.
As for CoD the whole diversity thing is going to be a more realistic depiction than what Battlefield 1 did. Even coming from someone like me it’d be nice to see how those with certain religious beliefs, ethnicities or women were treated back in those periods. As long as it isn’t shoved in your face quite like what Battlefield 1 ended up doing then it shouldn’t be that bad.
That being said, I’m still awaiting on a game that focuses on the African soldiers during those time periods, doesn’t necessarily have to be an action game ofc 😛
Eh, I prefer Alien to Aliens, personally.
Not that many recent movies worth watching, though 😛 But yeah, there’s a serious remake/reboot problem, as well.
In regards to Blade Runner; yeah, plot & visuals, mostly. In regards to the new Blade Runner; yeah, nobody knows the plot, yet 😛
CoD will definitely be more realistic than BF1 in that regard, yeah. As for women; easy – Nurse in a Field Hospital 😛 Blacks; segregated units, etc.
Years ago that description would’ve had me hyped. All it does now is scream “copy & paste”.
Fom 2010 and all Ubisoft Games are always the same, no true innovation just copy/paste+ change skins and add some online $#!t, This game is going to be the same as the old ones with some EPIC graphics and new nVidia Exclusive bull$#!t, nothing special if only Egypt was the theme of Assassin’s Creed III.
boring lets just end the franchise most overated borring game ever
what do you really expect when they can’t get stealth right in their stealth franchise, combat and rest of gaming elements aren’t anything more than basic button mashing either
Worst title ever.
Bore-igins.
I like Assassins Creed. All except AC2 and Syndicate!
Fight me Btches!
Comparing AC to Prince of Persia is kinda insulting to PoP.
Assassin’s Creed SHOULD have been Hitman meets Prince of Persia in the middle ages, but its core gameplay mechanics (stealth, acrobatics and assassination) are far too simplistic to compare to either and never gained any depth throughout the series, all we ever got was an ever expanding list of pointless side activities.
Prince of Persja 😀
Played on AMIGA 500 😉
Please come back to Us…
The 2008 prince of persia was beautiful, both thematically and in its visuals.
Prince of Persia (2008) & Sands of Time <3
TL:DR
If a franchise keeps doing the same thing over and over it’s destined to never be great again. Also, no. There were a lot of things wrong with forgotten sands just cause it plays like a half-assed WW and TT doesn’t excuse it.
Prince of Persia is a platformer first and foremost and reboot was stellar. It had issues but still stellar.
NVM. You seem adamant on your views.
But, on a side note; Forgotten Sands was completely irrelevant to the SOT story.
And don’t start some bs argument on why 2008 is sht and forgotten sands is brilliant and other nonsense. I’ve played the SOT trilogy over 20 times and the rest atleast to a dozen. I take Prince of Persia very seriously as it’s the game that got me into gaming. So don’t start it.
Anyway, think what you want.
game objective in the left corner.. “assassinate the crocodile”
ohh yeaa.. it will be epic!
I dont like pirates, i stopped playing after i finished blackflag. I just find it really hard to care about this series anymore. Mainly because they removed the sci fi story.
“I dont like pirates”
hmm…that’s odd
So you hate guys that illegally download games/music/books etc…..
lol
Cool, I am really looking forward to seeing this at E3 in motion, my juices are starting to flow.
Also the increase in open world aspect and adventuring will be a nice addition, basically Black Flag on steroids in a different environment is fine by me, where do I sign.
I hope they stick with this 2 year release cycle. They went to shi* once they went annual.
People hating assassin’s creed cause it’s assassin’s creed. I love the game, it’s fun, period. Oh and my favorite is unity, which btw I think still holds the title to best graphics, well maybe after battlefield 1. Come on hate me everyone
I don’t hate you man….but I dislike you….HA!
Well, we can always hope.
And then live to watch that hope be smashed into a million pieces once more, because U-BE-SOFT!
overall 3 and iv were best AC games, i have a bit nostalgia for first one and how cool it’s time period was but 2 and rest of AC games were trash
i remember Ubisoft saying they’ll be copying the witcher formula
i still wonder if CDPR is gonna sue or not
CDPR is too nice to sue anyone 😀
Yea. Sure. Let’s all forget the fact that they tried to sue pirates on Witcher 2 launch.
wasn’t it about witcher 1? (where they went to germany because germany has copyright laws while poland does not)
after trying to sue so many individuals their rep decreased and sales went down
so the company did a 180 and in 2008 they released GOG.com
and effectively removing Sec-rum from retail versions with a patch
(also the game which was sold on GOG was DRM-free)
say what you will about their past deeds with pirates, i only heard of the witcher series because a brother of a friend told me it was the best RPG he ever played (pirated)
so after the witcher 2 was announched i gave it a try (bought it in a sale on GOG for about 3-4$) and he was indeed correct
it IS the best RPG i’ve ever played
the witcher 2 was heavily consolized but imo it was the best in the series (dangerous combat, politics, multiple paths which are basiclly 50% of the content)
sure the witcher 3 is ultra consolized because they had to port it to console to actually make money (since PC players are cheapskates who usually buy on sale or keys)
but right now it is the most polished game on GOG (with the help of a few mods of course…)
i wonder what Cyberpunk has in store for us, will it be a PC pure game, or another console afterthought…
Hope it’s using SnowDrop engine instead of AnvilNext, Better performance and visuals!
It’s another modified version of AnvilNext.
Sources? I haven’t seen that confirmed anywhere. The name “Origins” is hardly even confirmed as the game name yet, much less the engine.
The guy who leaked the pic said on reddit.
It’s a shame IMO. Hope more games starts to use SnowDrop, but I guess it’s still proprietary to Ubi Massive.
Source?
Did you know that Ghost Recon Wildlands is using AnvilNext?
I thought that was pretty interesting
Yeah I’ve noticed, but not a surprise since they’re developed by Ubi… But Ubi also got access to Snow Drop since Massive Entertainment is under Ubis wings now. Snow Drop is superior IMO. Just check the performance in Wildlands when you start to crank up the settings, horrible performance even on the fastest cards out there.
It really doesn’t seem to run that badly to me. I have every setting on Ultra at 1440p and I keep 88 – 100 FPS.
Yes, I’m using a 1080 Ti, but it’s the best looking game I’ve seen thus far (apart from AC Unity)
Yeah, I have to take that back. For some reason I had the idea that performance was really bad in Wildlands at 4K, but I got it mixed up with Watch Dogs 2 and DeusEx: MU. Guess I’m just mad because I get 25 fps when trying to push 4K Ultra on mah old dog 980ti :/ And I’m not wealthy enough to get a 1080Ti 🙁
Anyway, it’s a beautiful game indeed, but things are just no so beautiful anymore since I witnessed Kingdom Come: Deliverance maxed out in 4K, it’s my new “best looking game i’ve ever seen” ever since. I recommend checking it out, a Beta version is available.
But oh my my system was brought to it’s knees bigtime. 15-20 fps in 4K. Damn you Cryengine being demanding lol, and for a good reason, jesus christ just look at that SVOTI!
After AC III the series became meaningless. The story got wrapped-up in that one (no matter how bad that was). Now it’s like a series of random events plot that leads nowhere. What is the point of this story now, why should I follow it?
brace yourself for incoming boredom. if ubishit dont revitalize the genre.. it’s more or less the same shitfest all over again
They need Desilet and Corey May to make Assassin creed great again…
I’m genuinely excited to see more about this. I got tired of the series immediately after Brotherhood so this may be a breath of fresh air.
AC could be amazing, if only U-BE-SOFT would take the lessons we’ve been trying to teach them for years at heart, & made a game out of them.
Yes, Origins has a chance to be that game, but until it’s actually proven to be that game, a healthy dose of scepticism is only natural, considering it is U-BE-SOFT we’re talking about, & if their live-action film indicates anything, it’s that 10 years of “F*CK THE ANIMUS BULLSH*T” feedback just wasn’t enough.
Maybe another 10? Who knows.
