Skyrim Modded Still Packs Mind-Blowing Visuals, Surpassing Those of Most Current-Gen Titles

Skyrim was released in 2011 and thanks to its modding community, Bethesda’s RPG has been transformed into one of the most beautiful titles. What’s also surprising is that Skyrim (at least in its modded version) looks even better than most current-gen titles. Below you can enjoy some screenshots from ENBSeries members DeathSushi, electricsheep26354, LucidAPs, Unreal and grunt-mk2. Enjoy!

    1. Yes awesome graphics potential with mods but boring game and stability issues hold it back unfortunately.

        1. Did a fresh install last year when I built my latest rig, and spent 12 hrs following the necessary steps to run ENB series w/200+ mods. In over 50 hours of play, never had a single CTD, and was playing 1080p/60fps on a 55″ Samsung LED. Nothing this gen will touch it…no PS4 exclusive, The Witcher:WH…NOTHING…not even close.

      1. Boring game? It ain’t battlefield 2.3 dlc 4 boy. And never had those said issues. 100 mods until now. Real vision

  1. Useless….if you gonna show us a screenshot, might as well link us to some of the mods otherwise enough with these crap.

  2. FarCry 4 maxed out looks better to me. It’s all subjective although the foliage here looks better.

    1. and i dont think a normal rig can run this properly. most of these mods i think have a screen shot mode where extra touches are added. I dont think real time gameplay looks like this.
if i am wrong , please correct me. Thanks!

      1. very similar, if u’re using Tandem ENB+SweetFX.
My Skyrim looks not bad, but not like this.
I have to go to the Nexus for upgrades 😀
        On 280X + PhenomII x6 3.85 i have >50 FPS average in above FHD

    2. Thats a much never game with better lightning etc, vanilla skyrim looks really bland and just adding stuff is never the same thing as building it looking good in the first place. It’s a matter of preference though, I played far cry 4 and never had the feeling ”oh this looks amazing, lets take a screenshot”. That happens all the time with skyrim.

  3. The only thing this images or mods is causing is that the next Elder Scroll if it not doesn’t look like this It will be disappointing.

  4. There’s a lot of Skyrim hate in these comments. Firstly these are not the ENB shots I would have picked. To those looking for mods your best bet is to ask the modders over on the ENB forums directly. Why? Because many of the mods in these screenshots haven’t seen public release in all probability. Electricsheep26354 is one of the better screenshot artists there. I know his rig includes a watercooled Titan- but he also captures at 4k so that’s not entirely uncalled for. That being said yes these are all realtime- why anyone thinks Skyrim has a special “screenshot” mode is beyond me- it’s a very simple cheat to hide the HUD on PC. Serenity ENB is often my favorite- it’s a nice balance between fantasy and realistic lighting. BTW- why of all the shots by Unreal did the author of this post only pick his ground shots? That’s just the height of mediocrity on the part of the poster. Look for some shots of Alduin by him.

    1. didnt know that!, but from what i have seen , some games use that and the reason why i thought that there would be a screenshot mode was due to the fact that a powerful rig would be needed , and most normal guys wouldnt hae one.(but you clarified that by saying about the non public releases)

    1. Looks Better than this on Topic 😀
      Great Job assembling Mods.
On my Blog you have mine on Skyrim. But wait for updates 😉

  5. look at this comment that i found on n4g

    “A 900p 30fps game can look and perform better than a 1080p 60fps game.”

sorry, i had to post it ! XD ……………. with 4 bubbles and 0 disagrees.

    ubisoft brainwashed them

    1. The sad thing is that they won’t bother to aim for higher quality gaming and will continue to delude themselves. It’s their loss, sadly.

  6. Conflicting mods, or unstable mods which cause crashes in certain areas and insanely hard to identify cause you got over a hundred fkin mods installed…….. …. .just venting.

  7. if you think this surpasses current gen sounds like your need a hardware upgrade so you can play current gen at some decent settings

  8. SKyrim ? the gameplay itself is suck, what is the purpose of having good graphic but suck gameplay.

    1. Well, for some reason Elder Scrolls series have a ton of following, in the same way CoD or Battlefield have, especially after Oblivion was ridiculously over-hyped before its release.
