  1. why are there only screenshots? because the game can’t run with these mods.
these are equivalent to promotional “bullshot” screenshots that you can get for console games.

    1. So looking at the ground texture isn’t playable? LOL There is nothing there that isn’t playable unless the shots have been taken at 4/8K downsampled.

      1. By “nothing” are you referring to just these screenshots or mods in general? Because I can think of quite a couple of presets which render the game completely unplayable even without downsampling.

        1. Then prove those shots are doing what you’re speculating, I don’t see anything intensive about them other than being just good shots.

          1. Like I said, I’m not talking about these screens in particular. Which is why I asked for clarification regarding what you meant by “nothing”. I thought I stated that rather clearly in order to avoid this confusion.

          2. Well most screenshots don’t necessarily represent a playable game so I won’t bring them in. My point was that there are a lot of presets out there which will kill your game even if you don’t have the intention of taking screenshots with downsampling and all that jazz.

          3. I find you comments ambiguous at best because you say “most screenshots don’t necessarily represent a playable game” without even knowing what settings or resolution the screenshots are using. A lot of people keep these custom configs to themselves anyway.

          4. Of course, this is an assumption on my part since most of these screens have been taken with all sorts of settings. But at the same time, it’s also an assumption that these actually represent a playable game. My logic is that when you’re taking a screenshot for the sake of bragging, you’d want it to look as good as possible, no matter what the cost in terms of performance. So a playable framerate with awesome visuals is unlikely, if not impossible.

    2. Everything here is quite playable. I can see why people get confused, but the game is seriously playable with all of these mods now. This is 2014 and many of Skyrim’s core memory issues have been remedied by various modders.

    3. I have an GTX 670 and I can run opethfeldt 6 enb with like 50 other mods, 1080p, SMAA at 40-80fps. With anything better, especially with upcoming 800 series you should be able to run skyrim looking like this with a rather basic card.

  2. Majority of enb mods are only useful for taking screenshots. Most are so over saturated, too many effects performance hungry and immersion breaking. Although you can tweak the settings to decrease certain things to your liking. I prefer non enb lighting mods like climates of tamriel, rcrn etc.

    1. I have tried a bunch and some work really well somewhere but aren’t good everywhere. The one I have sticked with is opethfeldt 6, it looks just 10 times better anywhere compared to vanilla.
