Rockfish Games has released a new set of screenshots for its Unreal Engine 4-powered space combat game, EVERSPACE. EVERSPACE is described as a single-player 3D space shooter with rogue-like elements and non-linear storytelling, and thanks to Epic’s Engine it comes with spectacular visuals. There is a Kickstarter campaign for it that will end in a couple of hours. Enjoy the screenshots after the jump!

very nice
This looks good and promising. Keeping an eye on that one.
Spectacular indeed.
Am I the only one that thinks this is killing No Man’s Sky?
It’s amazing the fact they payed attention to details like, the light reflecting onto your ship from the explosion of a fallen spacecraft.
They have nothing in common, NMS (sadly) is slowly digging its own grave with bad decisions.
i hear ya!
Curious now, what bad decisions?
Well, confirmed zero mod support, online only, you can only run into other players by chance, so no real coop…
Oh those, yeah I can see people being completely turned off (I’m not because bias since day one >.>).
Everspace is designed from the ground up to be a “solo rogue-like” game. Adding multiplayer wouldn’t make sense, they would need to change the games core mechanics entirely.
Wow. This reminds me of Homeworld, just way better looking. 😛
Backed this on Kickstarter. Can’t wait to play it in VR.
Me too. I backed it mainly for VR support. I hope it will be as good as it seems to be.
I played an indie space sim called Star Conflict on my Rift DK2 and it was unbelievable. Just a complete qualitative shift from what I’d been used to with playing space shooters. It was really like being in the cockpit of a starfighter. One of the things I’ve always hated in space sims was the field of view. This cramped little box and you’re constantly chasing enemies that fly past you . In VR your FOV is wide open and your reticle isn’t bound to your free look. It was a revelation.
I can only imagine how awesome a much more polished game like Everspace could be on better hardware like Rift CV1 or Vive. Holy sh*t.
