NBA 2K15 – New 1080p Highly Detailed Screenshots Released

2K Games has released a new set of screenshots for its upcoming basketball game, NBA 2K15. NBA 2K15 is currently planned for an October 7th release and its PC version will be identical to the current-gen one (PS4/Xbox One). Enjoy the screenshots after the jump!

  1. Most of the time you see the players on the court from far away, what they should focus on is animations. No matter how good everything else looks it won’t feel real if the movements aren’t. Also that detailed faces need to have good expressions too.

  2. Nice enough to get to uncanny valley. Don’t understand how skin shaders that approximate subsurface scattering aren’t the normal already. I wonder how many more year of plastic shiny skin on otherwise nicely detailed characters we have left.

    1. I’m working on a mobile game at the moment and using skin shaders that fake SSS (as all realtime implentations of SSS do). I’d thought this is kinda the norm now? I mean it’s not that expensive to do and using wrap lighting with a ramp texture lookup and some fresnel gives you pretty decent results and is fairly cheap.

      1. You would think, but this and a few other recent games have this super shiny skin. So they’re either not using it at all, or not using it very well
