During his GDC 2016 talk, Seth Rosen showcased some screenshots from the pre-alpha build of Mafia III. These are low-quality images (as they come from a PDF) but we’re pretty sure that Mafia fans will be interested in them. Mafia III is set in a reimagined New Orleans in 1968 and follows the story of Lincoln Clay, a disenfranchised Vietnam veteran, returning from combat and looking for a home and a place to belong. mmm no, i’d like a good game in that genre. Gfx looks ok. No bullshots so i’m alright with that. Let’s hope the story is as good as the second and it’s a buy for me.
This isn’t a mafia game. Why did they call it “Mafia 3”? The 1st two games were based on real life while this is some fantasy. It’s like the suits figured if they put black gangsters in the game all the wannabees and rap fans will buy it based on that alone. It’s a no go for me, I was hoping for a game based on the mafia during its heyday when they built Las Vegas/ infiltrated Wall Street/ allegedly assassinated President Kennedy/ etc. Basically the 60’s/70’s. That is an interesting time that hasn’t been looked into.

Mafia fan here too. Any one who likses action adventure games and has played games like mad max gta the previous 2 mafia games the batman arkham games the just cause games e.t..c will also like mafia 3. cant wait for it.
Love the Mafia games, Mafia 1 story was masterful. Anyway all the trailers of this game surely doesn’t make this game look like a Mafia game, really think most Mafia fans are gonna be disappointed with this.

A lot of blur fx and low detail assets I can see from just those screens, I do hope that they change a lot of the looks by release because it looks like a console game first more than anything.
