Forza Horizon 4 4K Screenshots Gallery on Extreme Settings

As you may already know, the PC demo for Forza Horizon 4 is currently available on Windows Store. As such, we’ve decided to download it and capture some 4K screenshots on Extreme settings in order to showcase its visuals.

Forza Horizon 4 comes with both Ultra and Extreme settings, meaning that PC gamers can push the graphical settings even further (compared to Forza Horizon 3).

In order to capture these screenshots, we used our AMD Radeon RX Vega 64. Do note that we’ve also used MSAA 4X anti-aliasing (we assume it’s MSAA), even though the game defaults at MSAA 2X.

Our AMD Radeon RX Vega 64 was unable to offer a constant 60fps experience in 4K on Extreme settings. We haven’t tested Ultra settings (with 2X anti-aliasing) but we’ll be sure to do some extensive benchies when the game releases next month.

Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

  1. I can’t download it because my Windows 10 version is too old. I wouldn’t have anything against updating it but it makes my PC take longer to launch and it seems performance in games also takes a hit. All this because of a few gimmicks I won’t even notice while using the system?

    1. I’ve never had this happen before and I keep my computer up to date with updates when ever they come out. I have had windows take a slightly longer time finishing up the updates on the first restart but beyond that it doesn’t effect my system. Something has to be wrong with his computer, or maybe he did Reg Edits to stop certain things that are causing it to slow down on the update.

      1. Maybe, but remember that nowadays many companies nag users to update apps. Most people will simply give up and click on that big, cool button just to end that nagging. Even if the newer version is downgraded in some way.

Also, there could be some performance hit but people could ascribe it to the nocebo effect. “It seems to work slower, but it’s probably just my irrational fear; it’ll pass”

  2. This game is so damn fun to play. Downloaded the demo last night and thoroughly enjoyed myself, and was pretty surprised by just how nice it looks. It also might be the first racing game that actually has nice looking trees and environments in screen shots; they generally seem to look all low-res when they’re not in motion, but not this game.

    1. You have MSAA off. John tested his with 4xMSAA (which isn’t neccasry in 4K). I used 2xMSAA and FXAA turned on (which you also had switch off) and got 60fps lock. Mind you I am running a Titan X Pascal and it looks like Nvidia have yet to release a set of drivers optimized for this game. There is no way a Vega 64 should out perform a Titan X or a 1080ti, but currently they are. I am quite confident that proper Nvidia drivers will sort that out though…

    1. Then there is something wrong with your PC. I have 4 gaming PC’s in my house with all different configurations. I had ZERO issues… Then again I know how to setup a PC.

    2. What’s your setup? I only had it crash when I was messing with Riva, otherwise it ran great for me. 3770 + GTX 1080

  3. I’m still not preordering – no matter how “fun” the cutsie little demo is. Like most AAA, MS has been successful at conning everyone with their marketing this gen, so we’ll see what the full game and content look like on Day One or if it is just another MS marketplace “live service” scam littered with MTXs and chopped-for-DLC garbage.

If it is a good, honest game worthy of purchase, then it must not stop there. I need several more good, content rich wysiwyg games before I begin to take down my cynical shield a little (just a little). Tired of the PR “apology” apps, and I’ve skipped on every other MTX packed “live service” scam so why stop now?

  4. the game finished with downloading but after trying to install – which i get some sort of error, and also was asked for a restart/update – , keeps downloading. I’m at 30.36gb! currently and it looks like its only 1/8 of the total (new) progress bar.
