Fan Is Working On An Unofficial Tomb Raider II Remake In Unreal Engine 4

Nicobass is currently working on a fan remake of Tomb Raider II in Unreal Engine 4. While we don’t really know whether this project will ever see the light of day, we’ve got some screenshots to share with you from it. This unofficial fan remake of Tomb Raider II does look impressive, so here is hoping that Nicobass will be able to release it (before receiving a C&D letter). Enjoy!

  1. At this point I don’t even blame the publishers/developers. Its like fool me once shame on you, fool me twice…….. you get it. Anyway it does look really good, always wanted TR2 to get the anniversary treatment.

  2. At risk of sounding PC or whatever, I would suggest widening her waist a bit, she looks like she’s holding her breath (and, in true Rob Liefeld fashion, without her lower ribs). All in all, looks great and it’s good to see that they are not pumping air into her boobs and butt.

    1. Proportions are 1:1 from the last trilogy (Legend, Anniversary, Underworld). Most likely not even his model.

      1. Interesting. The waist aside, I alway rembered old Lara as having bigger front and back.

      1. Oh come on. too many of you remember these games with too much bias they controlled like utter rubbish. Yes they were a little more challenging but that’s about it.

          1. Oh I agree with you wholeheartedly that there are still issues but we have also progressed massively in a lot of areas.

I would take either of the two newer Tomb Raider games over any of the clunky older games.

          2. I’m sort of mixed on this, the controls were a bit cumbersome but unique at the same time and presented more of a challenge rather than the easy, same movement we have now in most third person games. Square Enix stripped Tomb Raider of it’s uniqueness and difference, it’s just a generic third person now, pretty much a Uncharted clone. Rise of The Tomb Raider is much better than 2013 though in terms of going back to it’s roots in gameplay.

          3. No I have no time for controls designed to add challenge and length to games for me it’s just lazy. The earlier TR games and Resi 1 to 3 were a chore to play due to their controls. However, I am aware that many would disagree with that.

As for the newer TR games I actually prefer the 2013 version over the newer one I feel that the level design was far far better.

        1. The controls were convoluted because of engine limitations, please don’t talk utter rubbish if you understand jack sh*t about developing.

  3. publishers should just support these fan made games and modders instead of C&D. Valve made a fortune out of it and Blizzard is still salty over Dota 2.

after TR Anniversary and reboot it’s not like SE has plans for remakes anyway.

  4. Yeah that’s gonna work out reeeaall well. Lets not pick a dead franchise but one that’s alive and currently selling, I’m sure they won’t have any problems what so ever with unauthorized use of their ip. At this point, it would be smarter that if your working on something like this, and actually want to get what your working on accomplished, then you shouldn’t publicize it at all. Work on the project until completion then give a press release 2 hrs after its been uploaded to bit torrent. Then everyone would get to experience it, and would be too late at that point for the lawyers to really quash it. But you know that would take alot of work and dedication vs starting some preliminary work, then making an announcement with full knowledge that it is going to be shutdown, so you can get the praise without actually having to do the work of really finishing a remake.

    1. Exactly my toughts. Amateur devs should be less narcisistic. My theory is that they don’t intend to release the game anyway.

    2. I’d have been happier if DSO decided to stop covering these fairy tale pipe dreams instead of DLC.

  5. I thin he must try to make a aggrement with square enix to allow him to release it on steam as a tomb raider 2 remake. That the only way square ernix will not shutdown it. If they make a parhtnership with him and then both him and squre enix share the profits fromt he sales.

  6. WOOO! One of my favorite games. I would recommend getting a few team members, the texture work is weak and the environments look quite empty and stale. I would recommend taking references from Anniversary. Right now this looks amateurish but, really great effort for a single person. Hope you can polish it up and make it great, I love these games and want to see them be treated with the respect they deserve.

    1. Yes,I was hoping for a Dedicated experienced team company & it’s better than fanbase made

      1. I thought you meant the visual aesthetic. I agree about the prompts. I hate obtrusive UI elements just killing immersion. Games like Division where the screen is cluttered with garbage.

  7. Make Lara look like her REAL yellow self again, not the modern rosy, pale look.

And then submit to the C&D and stop working on copyrighted material. It never ever pans out, you’re wasting your time.

  8. hopefully they dont use the same control and movements from the old ones , i loved the old ones but replaying is a no go because of the movement

  9. looks incredible. sadly this feminist infested crystal dynamics probably going to make her flat and ugly.

  10. Can’t wait for it to get piled-on by lawyers just like what, two or three projects last week? The 3D Zelda remake, the vanilla WoW server, what else…

  11. Another fan remake…which will be stopped dead in it’s tracks by the original developer or publisher…Never to be heard of again.

    THIS ISN’T NEWS!!!!

Please DSOG! Stop posting these bullshit UE4 game remake articles!!!
