Edge Of Eternity – Open World JRPG with Non-Linear Story – Gets New Screenshots

Midgar Studio has released a new set of screenshots for Edge of Eternity. Edge of Eternity is an indie tribute to JRPG classics offering a universe blending fantasy with science-fiction, intense ATB battles and branching story. The game is inspired by the great JRPG tradition for the strategical turn-based combats and the characters progression, and its OST is handled by Chrono Trigger’s composer, Yasunori Mitsuda. Enjoy!

  1. You can put a ‘J’ in front of it, but it’s not an RPG

      1. At least, it have RPG elements….They also brought Baldurs Gate series , Neverwinter Nights series, Knights of The old Republic series, Mass effect Series and Dragon age series to the market…so Daniel’s statement is justified.

  2. Open-world and non-linear are things that don’t really gel with most JRPGs. The genre is at its best when it’s concise to a narrative pointed-edge. Still, this is looking a lot better than I thought it would in terms of production values. Almost mistook it for a Star Ocean game for a second.

    1. Yeah, I don’t mind non-linear narrative. But open-world doesn’t really go well with a Jrpg theme.

    2. Agreed. That is the antithesis of the JRPG. And man if that guy doesn’t look like Fayt from Star Ocean 3.
