No Man’s Sky Breach Update Released – Full Patch Notes

Hello Games has released the Breach Update for No Man’s Sky. To celebrate this release, the team shared a new trailer for it. Moreover, it shared its full patch notes. So, let’s take a look at it.

In Breach, players will explore a dark, empty universe filled with the wrecks of destroyed corvette ships. These ships are perfect for scavenging. You can collect parts and add them to your own ship-building toolkit. By exploring these wrecks, you’ll find many different corvette pieces, including rare vertical parts that let you create brand-new ship designs and unleash your creativity.

This update also adds space wrecks for players to explore. You can step out into zero gravity to search through wrecked corvettes and use your Multi-Tool laser to break down valuable parts. Then, you can reuse the scrap to build your dream ship at the Corvette Workshop.

The Breach Update also brings some visual improvements. For example, corvette modules will now look better when viewed from far away. The update fixes a bug where big waves would suddenly appear or disappear on the water’s surface. Lighting now changes more smoothly between different environments. Plus, it improves collisions for several planetary objects, like large mushrooms.

And that’s not all. The devs have implemented a number of lighting optimizations to improve performance. The game should also be more stable now. To be more precise, the devs fixed a crash that could occur on Corvettes with a large number of attached weapons. They have also fixed an issue that could cause a hang when opening the airlock door of a derelict freighter.

Along with all the fixes, improvements, and new features in today’s update, the No Man’s Sky team has also been improving Voyagers since its launch in August. Building is now smoother with better snapping and stronger collision. Plus, the Corvette Workshop now lets you apply a color palette to your entire corvette with just one option.

Like always, Steam will download this update the next time you launch its client. Below, you can also find its complete changelog.

      1. Depends on your VR device. I have a Vive Pro 2, which has a native resolution of 2800×2400. Rendering at that resolution for VR can be difficult for a lot of GPU's. My RTX 3070 Ti can play most games at that resolution, but the 8GB of VRAM isn't enough for some to be smooth, and the performance isn't enough for some games. Might need a RTX 4070 or RTX 5070 at the minimum.

You also need a decent CPU. AMD Ryzen 5000 series (Zen 3) or better with at least 8 cores. On the Intel side anything from 10th gen and up should be fine as long as it's at least 8 cores (newer is obviously better). 32GB of RAM is a good minimum as well, and note that for Fallout 4 VR RAM speed is important too (make sure your CPU supports your RAM's rated speed and then enable XMP/DOCP/EXPO in the BIOS).

Edit: I should probably say that my performance in No Man's Sky VR is something like 30-40 FPS on planets, and that's with everything set on "Low". You might need a RTX 4080 or RTX 5080 and a Ryzen 7800X3D or Ryzen 9800X3D to play the game smoothly on a Vive Pro 2, and that's without maxing out the graphics.

  1. As much as I respect them for turning this game into something the fans love and stuck with it even thru the hate,

to be fair the game still feels empty there is no point in doing anything, it's just mindless task, you have to make up your own story

instead of making so many updates they could of worked on a dedicated story mode, or something that could be a driving force for players to do the things in the game

this game is just a massive beautiful well made Time Waster.

    1. I get you, but it does have a vague main quest line and the Atlas one, and maybe some other, idk, haven't played it since close to launch… Still to me it looks bland and aimless as ever, and I can't play games anymore that make you mine resources and have forced base building.

  2. NMS is the most primitive form of an AI generated game and it doesn't give me any hope on the future of videogames when i see how people are overlooking its soulless nature, it looks bland, has generic content, grindy progression, uninspired visual design, no sense of level design because everything is generated and is average on every gameplay aspect from its awful UI up to its boring combat and flat traversal.

IMO this game has always been what it was, updates made it more stable, added more stuff, made it looks better, but its core issues are still here.

The food was bad, the waiter changed the plate and people suddenly started cheering…
