Forspoken Patch 1.11 released and fixes a major game crash issue

Square Enix has released a new patch for Forspoken. According to the release notes, Update 1.11 fixes an issue where the game crashes in certain scenes or by certain actions.

This patch does not bring anything else to the table other than this fix. Square Enix claims that it also packs various minor fixes, but that’s all there is to it.

In short, don’t expect any performance improvements or additional optimization tweaks. To its credit, Square Enix improved the game’s graphics and overall performance with its previous patch. And yes, the game’s Ray Tracing effects are still underwhelming. For the time being, we suggest disabling them, especially RTAO which is still broken.

As always, Steam will download this hotfix patch the next time you launch its client. Below you can also find its complete changelog.

  1. I saw Final Fantasy XV being higher in the top seller list on Steam than Forspoken, made me smile.

Nobody is interested in buying Forspoken, it’s inherently a bad game. Maybe if the game looked more like the original reveal trailer and had less issues at launch, things would’ve been slightly different.

But Square Enix doubled down on making a horrible protagonist with a horrible story.

    1. Reminds me of the universal negative backlash that the new Saints Row cast received. And Volition, still high off their own farts, doubling down on their choice and outing phrases like “we are on the right side of history”.

Going with a character that nobody likes, that nobody would want to be friends with, isn’t gonna do society any favours. All it does is expose just how weak the rest of your game is and make sure your game appeals to no one.

      1. You had me in the first half, not gonna lie, but you lost me in the second half. It’s an inherently bad game yep, but this protagonist doesn’t make it an inherently bad game, the writing, the developers, and annoying traits of gameplay,. do. I assume, let’s call a spade a spade, people are complaining because the antagonist is a) female, b) black, but largely with folks here it’s also in that order. The Operative was INCREDIBLY well received, (20 year old game) and no one was pissy over the protagonist so let’s grow up shall we? Don’t jump on THAT bandwagon simply because some others have. It’s such repetitive droll and low hanging fruit for the apes here.

        1. I’m sorry but where did you jump to that conclusion?

          Me in my original reply:
“Square Enix doubled down on making a horrible protagonist with a horrible story.”

To which you said you completely agree

Then I bring up the protagonist again in Forspoken and in other games with sh*ty f*king awful protagonists:
“Going with a character that nobody likes, that nobody would want to be friends with, isn’t gonna do society any favours”

And now suddenly it’s jumping on the racism/sexism bandwagen.

          Know what, fvck this, let me make things perfectly clear: Even if she was white and male, she’d still be an awfully written absolutely dreadful character I wouldn’t ever wanna be friends with;

Duke Nukem is loud, obnoxious and a throbbing sexist. I’d still wanna be friends with him though, I enjoy playing as him. Something that is a must for any video game. Is the character likeable? Yes? Please continue

No? Go back to the fvcking drawing board.

    2. When you have BILLIONS of dollars and want to be a part of an agenda (the right side of history, they like to say) they don’t give a damn whether or not you like the protag. If anything, their job is done, because you DON’T like the protag. They have an agenda to get to and to accomplish. They did everything they were suppose to do, even if it financially fails, they indoctrinally succeeded. I know you’ve seen the trend of how the entertainment industry is going. You are the product.
