FromSoftware has released a brand new update for the PC version of Elden Ring. According to the release notes, Update 1.02.2 fixes some bugs, though it does not address any of the major issues that currently plague the game.
Going into more details, Patch 1.02.2 fixes an issue where the graphics card was not being used, resulting in slow performance. It also fixes a bug that caused the game to quit under certain conditions during a battle with the Fire Giant.
In short, this is a minor update and not a major one. Still, it will improve your overall experience, especially if you were having the first issue.
As always, Steam will download this patch the next time you launch its client. Below you can also find its complete changelog.

Just tried it, performance is still a mess especially in the Atlus Plateau, even with an RTX 3060 and a good ryzen 5 5xxx series I can never hit a stable 60 outdoors
shame considering the game is amazing aside from the garbage performance
The performance won’t change until we get a patch that fixes the shader compilation and single core issues.
This game shouldn’t be bought or recommended on PC until that happens.
80% positive reviews on steam, even when the game is fixed i will not remove the review
Considering the old prepare to die Edition of Dark Souls need a mod-patch to get 1080 and 60fps, people shouldn’t too surprised by this.

It’s actually worse than Cyberpunk.
No way, stop exaggerating
Performance wise it is.
Wow, first time i see glitches in a game!!.
“Also fixed other bugs.”
In the near future i swear devs will write things like “and all that sh*t and stuff…” in their changelog
Are you going to review the game or don’t you really do game reviews much?
“Fixed an issue where the graphics card was not being used, resulting in slow performance.

I mean those are unimportant advanced stuff, who even uses their videocard to play games or rage quit the game themselves ? 10/10 port guys.
THIS has to be awarded BUG OF THE DECADE right now.
It’s incredibly gross how technically incompetent this studio is.
I know, not all of the game is technically this bad, but this bug is something I’ve never seen before.
I thought that was a joke, then I read the changelog… WTF…
This game have software renderer mode? Awesome…
Daniel Owen has been covering the performance through all the patches. The stuttering seems to be heavily reduced on his system, as overkill as it is.

Maybe it’s not related to setup.
RTX 3080 can’t hold 4K 60fps and this is on top of the constant stuttering that happens when traversing the open world. They are planning to add ray tracing apparently, that will half the already poor performance.

Bruh LMAO
Hasn’t stopped me from putting 32 hours into it so far, the game is awesome and has the best environments I’ve ever seen. It only gets better as you play it
