MADFINGER Games has announced that its MMO open-world tactical FPS, Gray Zone Warfare, has sold 900K units in its first month. The game is available in Early Access on Steam, and it’s powered by Unreal Engine 5.
The devs claimed that this success ensures their long-term commitment to Gray Zone Warfare. As such, the game will continue to improve and evolve.
MADFINGER Games is currently working on performance optimizations for the game. Patch 2 is also coming soon. Plus, the devs will soon share their roadmap for big new content updates.
For those who don’t know, Gray Zone Warfare is a tactical first-person shooter game that focuses on realism. Players will need to plan and survive against both human players and computer-controlled enemies while discovering the secrets of Lamang Island. As said, the game is currently in Early Access. This Early Access version comes with a realistic shooting system with accurate real-world details. Players are also able to customize their weapons.
MADFINGER Games also claims that they have added a unique health system to the game. Instead of using the usual hitpoints, this system makes the human body behave more realistically. Each injury you get will affect how you see and perform in the game. So, it’s important to know what kind of injury you have and how to treat it to survive and help your teammates. It’s a pretty cool concept.
Finally, Gray Zone Warfare has a 42km² map of the Democratic Republic of Lamang, a fictional Southeast Asian country inspired by the stunning landscapes of Laos, for you to explore. Also, thanks to UE5, the game looks gorgeous. Yes, it may have a bit of high PC requirements, but it at least looks great. At times you can even get some “Crysis” vibes from it.
It’s worth noting that the game currently has Mixed Reviews on Steam. So, if you are on the fence about it, I suggest waiting a little more. Personally, I’m not a fan of Early Access games. And, according to the devs, Gray Zone Warfare may stay in EA for several years. So, that kind of sucks.
Stay tuned for more!

I never understood the appeal to these types of games. Why are gamers fascinated by playing make believe soldiers. Spawn, run around a map and pew pew into oblivion. It's as mindless as it gets. I just don't understand that appeal. Same game over and over again.
Because Doody Calls and they feel empowered when they can respawn after the death.
Better than going fighting for Ukraine I guess.
UE5 again and again and again ………………………………………………………………
These – brainless stupid lazy ass***les super-retard dumb – developers can't make their own game's engine !!!!!!!!!!!!!! WTF !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm not sure if many actually understand what it is. and most typically mistake what the engine can do, from what developers usually do. and somehow think that's what the engine is any good for doing………….
if you sculpt a potato in 3D from any designer tool the engine will render simply that; but it doesn't mean that the engine only knows how to render a potato…..that reflects merely on what you came up with.
