    1. Tell me a game developer who makes bug free open-world games. Some are more polished than others but no open world game is shipped in a perfect state. Even the best of the best open-world games have countless bugs. Look how many patches The Witcher 3 or GTA V have received and compare the current versions to the day one versions of those games.

      1. Totally agree mate, with the amount of coding these games must have…..well its a miracle that they run in the first place, let alone a few bugs!!!!

        1. They aren”t play testing the games though. They used to get a group of people in to play test from the public. That seems to have stopped a while ago in favour of releasing games unfinished then patching later. We really should only have to pay say 60% of the money up front and the rest when it works properly.

I will say Ubisoft is making a better job of it than other AAA devs when it comes to transparency though which is welcome all the same.
It is still bloody annoying buying games on disc and not being able to put them in and play them as is though due to countless updates from release day.

  1. This is amazing openness for a AAA developer. I would like to see more developers/publishers especially the ones making huge open-world games do this type of known issues list and their workarounds while they fix them in the next patch.

    1. True but it still means the public are beta testing released products as usual. No good offering it early to people who pay significantly more if it’s broken.Glad i held off until after this patch to pick it up.

    1. Yes, it’s officially on October 5, but some special editions of the Game can played 3 days earlier than the standard release date, if I’m not mistaken.

IMO, these include the following, GOLD, ULTIMATE, MEDUSA, SPARTAN and/or the PANTHEON edition copies of Odyssey.

  2. I’ve been playing it since the 2nd when it unlocked for me and I can tell you, in practice, this is not at ALL a “buggy game”, especially by the standards we’ve become accustomed to on PC in later years. I’m just glad they’re already on top of releasing patches for any bug they can find.

  3. What needs severe attention is the intentionally broken level gating paired with their $10 “booster” microtransactions before we even begin to discuss the extremely poor
performance, the latter of which is absolutely still a problem like all Ubi games vs other open world games. Mindless grinding/sponging does not at all equate to “git gud” with great gameplay skills design and finely tuned enemy AI mechanics. So I care more about the marketplace-centered framework that even if ignored STILL residually creates a broken experience – otherwise how would consumers be enticed to buy them if they could be ignored?

Monolith has already “officially” explained how and why regarding their own marketplace.

Once the honeymoon ends with this one, like all the others, realistic opinions will rise to the surface from underneath all the sponsored streamers/youtubers, community manager damage control efforts, and social media fluff that scour “pop” gaming boards like Steam, Resetera, IGN, etc. Only then will we be able to have real conversations about how we can add this to the list of predatory monetized AAA games that continue to scam consumers with microtransactions.

  4. A Venomous Encounter is bugged and not showing up… though im sure you know this @Ubisoft… i have no doubt that you all are working hard and i appreciate the work that you have done… keep it up
