Resident Evil 2 Remake mod unlocks the animations of distant zombies from 30fps to unlimited

One of the most annoying issues of Resident Evil 2 Remake was the 30fps animations of all distant zombies. This is something that annoyed a lot of PC gamers. And even though Capcom has not addressed this mechanic, there is a mod that finally unlocks it.

The “Zombies at a distance less frequently” mod unlocks the animations of distant zombies. As such, all of the zombie animations are now at full framerate and will look smooth on your PC. Right now, the mod offers two options. You can either lock the framerate to 60fps, or have a variable framerate.

Since 60fps will be enough for most gamers, I suggest using that option. After all, there might be some glitches with the variable option.

According to the modder, this mod is compatible with the game’s latest update. All you have to do in order to install it is open the file, select the .exe of your game “Steam \ steamapps \ common \ RESIDENT EVIL 2 BIOHAZARD RE2” and install the mod. Make also sure to check the “backup” box if you want to backup your .exe.

You can download this framerate unlocker from here.

Have fun!

  1. Right now, the mod offers two options. You can either lock the framerate to 60fps, or have a variable framerate

Where do you see these two options? The patcher only asks for exe location and that’s all.

Btw you can do that without this patcher by hex editing re2.exe and following instructions found on PCGamingWiki or Resident Evil Modding boards:

    https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Resident_Evil_2_(2019)#The_game_updates_zombies_at_a_distance_less_frequently

    http://residentevilmodding.boards.net/thread/10362/zombies-animate-full-framerate-update

    1. Updated the story, there is a new description now that does not include the 60fps or variable framerate. So I guess the mod only enables full animations.

  2. It won’t be the first nor the last time a website does that, whether it’s a big website or a small one 😛 . I’ve said it before and will say it again; we can provide you with new content each and every day so we don’t really care about others copying our articles. It’s sad witnessing it, but we don’t really care to be honest.
