Kotaku’s ‘Jason Schreier’ has confirmed that the new COD 2019 game will be called Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. This title sounds really ridiculous as it makes it sound similar to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, however it appears that this will be the game’s final title.

According to Schreier, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will be a “soft reboot”. What this basically means is that COD: MW will aim to introduce the IP to a new generation of gamers, while still keep the canon of previous games intact.
Basically, think of it as what the new Star Wars and Jurassic World movies actually are; a continuation of the older films in which viewers follow new characters.

Judging from a lot of games coming out nowadays it seems like Japan is doing well. Even when they make sequels they tend to vary it up a little. And a lot of the times I’m seeing new IPs coming from there unlike in the west.
Metal Gear, Ace Combat, Yakuza, God Hand, Zone of the Enders, Binary Domain, Resident Evil, and the list goes on and on…
If the issue is with sequels, well that’s an industry standard, deal with it.
