The Day Before screenshots-4

The Day Before may get an offline mode thanks to modders

The Day Before was one of the most disappointing games of 2023. Originally marketed as an MMORPG, The Day Before was actually an Extraction Shooter that looked and played nothing like its pre-release videos. In just mere days after hitting Steam Early Access, Fntastic closed its doors. And, from the looks of it, modders are working on an offline mode for it.

Twitter’s Luci0 and fskartd are currently working on this Offline Mod. This will basically be a crack that will reroute the server connection to a local connection. In theory, this should allow you to get into the game and play it.

Now I don’t know why someone would want to play The Day Before. It’s a bad Early Access game and it has an empty world. It’s not even a “So bad it’s good” game. It’s just mediocre and disappointing.

Okay okay, I can get why YouTube channels would love to get their hands on it. Like it or not, this game can still attract people. So, once an Offline Mod comes out, you can expect to see videos with headlines like “We play the worst scam of 2023“. So, kudos at least to Fntastic for creating a game that can generate clicks in the blink of an eye.

Speaking of The Day Before, you may want to take a look at Once Human and Nakwon: Last Paradise. Nakwon: Last Paradise is an Extraction game, and appears to be exactly what The Day Before was aiming to achieve. On the other hand, Once Human promises to be open-world survival game in which players will be able to fight, build and explore.

  1. They should crack online only games like the division, breakpoint. Would’ve been much better for preservation and longevity of those titles.

  2. Lol wtf, why? The game without other players is literally an empty world. You can wonder for hours and bump into a few zombies. These idiots modders could be spending time actually making offline mods for popular games that are actually fun. Instead they waste their time on this .. did these modders huff too much paint or something?

  3. The steam page says they’re going to try to refund anyone who wants one. It’s incredible to me that a dev would open up a game for sale then just close doors almost immediately, devs don’t care too much what gamers think, just about the money.
And this was only ever Early Access which is understood to still be in development, not even NMS or CP77 ever bothered with Early Access which would have lessened the outcry and the reputation damage.

Yeah so this almost feels like what others have said, a money laundering scheme or some other manipulation that is using the steam system as a tool for something else. So you make a teaser, offer pre order bonus, take the money, THEN put it all into a 10% interest bearing account or other thing, hold onto it for as long as possible but say it’s taking transaction time to process etc

The screenshots and such looks so bland and years old how anyone could be interested in this is crazy, a.nother pandemic, zombie or whatever game? are you kidding me? online games are like another form of drugs frankly, junkies and these people with 500 games in their steam library? sounds like more addiction to “the deal”, digital hoarding, well they’re going to exploit that, shysters world.
