11 bit studios has announced a new emotional sci-fi game that features a unique blend of adventure, survival, and base-building elements, called The Alters. This game will come out on PC in 2024, and below you can find its debut in-engine trailer.
In The Alters, you play as Jan Dolski. Jan is a simple worker who creates alternative versions of himself in a desperate attempt to escape from a planet where even sun rays can prove deadly.
In this game, players will face important choices from the past in order to save themselves in the present. Players will have to create new versions of themselves to complete tasks impossible to tackle on their own. Moreover, they’ll have to build relationships with the alters and try to influence their decisions.
It’s also worth noting that you’ll be able to manage a moving base in order to escape the deadly rays of a rising sun. Plus, you’ll be able to utilize the planet’s cycle to mine resources and keep your base running.

I was thinking to myself, sure they will try to cram some (trans)homosexual thing in this game, but the protagonist look like a normal dude, and an clone that turns out h*mo based on a alternative past would bring some unconfortable themes for the LGBT folks, so i’m not sure they will go that route, maybe they turn him “bisexual” or something like that, who knows.
The rest of the characters differenciate due to different life decisions.
So the sexual orientation does not make sense to change from character to character.
What if some life decisions involved having s3x with males, or being r@ped by some older male, it’s what i was trying to get at. It’s taboo to suggest being gay is learned behaviour.

Like i said earlier, they could try the “bisexual” route and suggest he likes both sexes from the start. If the clone mechanic is something randomized and not scripted, i think this might happen.
