Terminator 2D NO FATE feature

Terminator 2D: NO FATE is an amazing 2D retro action platformer

Reef Entertainment has announced a new 2D retro action platforming game that is set in the Terminator universe, Terminator 2D: NO FATE. Terminator 2D: NO FATE feels like the game we’d get in the 16-bit/32-bit era. And you know what? I’m really excited about it.

In this game, you’ll play as Sarah Connor and the T-800 through a variety of missions as you take on the T-1000 and try to put a stop to Skynet’s plans.

Players will also lead the Resistance as John Connor in the future, fighting on the front lines as mankind’s only hope in the War Against the Machines.

Terminator 2D: NO FATE promises to have a unique story that will blend iconic scenes from ‘Terminator 2: Judgment Day’ with original scenarios and multiple endings.

As I said, I’m really looking forward to this game. Since I got a SEGA Nomad, I’ve been playing some classic 16-bit platformers. So yeah, I kind of miss this type of games.

Reef Entertainment will release the game on September 5th. The PC version will be available on both Steam and EGS. Finally, you can find below its debut trailer.

Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

  1. FINALLY a game I'm interested in.😍
I'm usually not into the terminator games, unless they're 2D, no idea why.
The ones on Megadrive/Mega CD were great, and this looks like a worthy 32-bit sequel which could have been on PS1/Saturn. (colors weren't that good on Mega CD)
Especially when the first ones followed the events of T1, and this one seems to focus on T2.

For those who haven't tried it it, go give a chance to Terminator on Mega CD, it's great. (perfectly emulated in Ares, Retroarch, etc.)

  2. Looks interesting, hopefully "those" people won't get too triggered from having a girl boss character in the game and something like this can be done for some other classic franchises.

  3. Game looks well made, and the pixel/sprite art looks perfect. One thing that I noticed while watching the trailer was "Is this necessary?" Do we need a Terminator 2 side scroller that looks like it's just going to retell the movie in video game form? We already got a handful of Terminator 2 games that were basically like this back in the day and do we really need yet another one?

Mind you, I actually think this looks slick, but the overall "point" of the game is, in my mind a question of "why do we need this?" I'd rather have this be a Terminator game that continues on with a new story, or something.. I'm not sure where they'd go from here, but a full blown retelling of a story we all know already just seems kinda empty. Are any of us going to be actually surprised by a single frame of this game, or is it just gonna be "Man, remember when that happened in the movie?" over and over again?

  4. Reef entertainment unironically gave more love to the Terminator IP than anyone else since the release of Terminator 2

  5. My goodness this looks way more promising than what it needs. It's heavily using and expanding plot of T2 and even trailer beautifully shows the bits fans remember the most. Can't wait to play with crt royale shaders.
