Super Mario 64 gets an unofficial fan-made sequel, featuring new bosses & new levels

Mario fans, get ready for a treat. Kaze Emanuar has been working on an unofficial fan-made sequel to Super Mario 64. This game is called SM64: Last Impact and is basically a hack for Super Mario 64, featuring 130 stars, 12 powerups, many new bosses and a large variety of completely new levels, and is available for download right now.

As with Super Mario Bros. X, we strongly suggest downloading this as soon as possible. Nintendo may send a C&D letter to Emanuar, so make sure to download this free Mario game while you still can.

It’s worth noting that Kaze Emanuar has spent over 4000 hours of work into this game.

You can download SM64: Last Impact from here or here.

Have fun!

  1. have any of these fan made remake games ever came out?where is that star wars battle ont 2 fan remake that s supposed to come out on steam? did thatcome out…..no.

you know whey these articles come out?because these guys want to get their name out for a job.none of these games are coming out that are fan remakes.

ps nintendo will stop this fast.

      1. you do realize this game is illegally available for download right?

cant wait for nintendo to shut it down.

ps as i said how many of these are out just this crappy n64 version?just this one and what happened to the battlefront 2 fan remake that was all ready to be released on steam that you posted months ago?….hhhhmmm?

          1. i dont like fan remakes because they never happen this mite be the only one and it will be shut down quick.

all these guys want is their name out this guy should be sued for copywright

          2. They do happen if the creators are savvy enough to not mention about them before they’re finished.

          3. I didn’t. I saw that someone RESPONDED TO HIM. I don’t need to see HVD’s comment to tell someone else that he’s a troll and to ignore him.

          4. My apologizes, I thought it was a feature to ignore a blocked users posts/responses/etc.No offense intended, I agree with you! #HVD is a #TROLL

          5. He actually admitted it to me some time back. He said he does it because he’s bored. *shrug*

    1. Definitely! Looks like it needs to be run on an emulator. Probably will give a go on project64 unless there’s anything better out..

On a completely different topic, but one that’s been bizarrely stuck in my head lol, whats with the Sylvia Plath pic?

      1. I tried running on others and it crashed right away, also different plugins like Glide or Rice glitched everything, so sticking to the zilmar specs (jabo) is the way to go, can’t say I like that. :s

Also, there seems to be some weirdness with the controls, the and some hitboxes are all over the place on some enemies, kinda rough and the camera that wasn’t that great on the original Mario 64 now seems to be kinda worse but at least the little bit I’ve played the additions to the gameplay and overall level design is kinda awesome to see. 🙂

About Plath, well, can’t get any simpler than I admire and like her and her work and in particular that smile on the pic. 🙂

        1. Got around to playing this, did have to change some settings mentioned in readme link, but got it up running. I ended up mapping those 4 yellow “camera” buttons to my right analog stick.
The guy nailed the aesthetic pretty well, but yeah the camera was still a pain. Also, Mario 64 is a legit greatest game of all time candidate, esp for how much it influenced and changed the industry. Making a sequel to something like that is pretty hard to stand to the original. But it’s fun I guess. I just did the first level with those fluffballs when you touch them you start to trip haha.
Honestly, there are better 3d Mario games available to us PC gamers right now. Super Mario Galaxy 1/2 plays great, there’s even a controller template floating around on the internet that will give perfect conversion from motion controller to dual stick reg controller. Also Super Mario 3D world is finally working decent on the wiiu emulator cemu. So if you have the patience to d/l them it’s worth checking out

          1. Yep, I was playing Galaxy but I lost a HD with the game and the save so yeaaaah, I’m trying to set my head on the mindset to start all over again. -.-
I wasn’t very far but there’s so many games to play on PC that it gets kind of overwhelming.

    1. But this doesn’t matter since the game has been finished and is available for download.
And removing the download link won’t do anything because people will rehost it.

    1. google copyright infringement since you wont ill show you

opyright infringement is the use of works protected by copyright law without permission, infringing certain exclusive rights granted to the copyright holder, such as the right to reproduce, distribute, display or perform the protected work, or to make derivative works.

i dont think they asked nintedno.

  2. And those are true remakes, not some baits used to advertise their creators (who don’t really want to even finish them, just make some alpha, draw attention of the media and knowingly “die as heroes” in a fight with DMCA which comes in handy).

  3. I know that taking down this stuff really sucks, but “unofficial sequel”? That’ll make the game stick out like a sore thumb for lawyers. Please be a little more cautious!
