Sunset Overdrive appears on Steam’s database, updated an hour ago

Last week, we informed you about the rumoured PC version of Sunset Overdrive being listed by the ESRB. As most of us thought back then, a possible PC version of this Xbox One exclusive game would be coming exclusively on Microsoft’s Windows Store. However, the game has also been added to Steam’s database, hinting at a Steam release.

Sunset Overdrive is an open world action-adventure third-person shooter that came out to Xbox One in 2014. In this game, the player assumes the role of an employee of FizzCo who has to fight off the Overcharge Drinkers: humans who have turned into mutants after drinking FizzCo’s energy drink beverage. Players can can wall-run, use zip-lines, and grind rails to swiftly navigate through it, with a large arsenal of weapons to use.

According to Steam’s database, this product was added 7 months ago and its record was last updated one hour ago. In other words, this doesn’t appear to be an old entry (something that happened with the Steam entry of Halo 3).

As we’ve already reported, Microsoft has not announced anything official yet but it’s almost safe to assume that this game will be coming really soon to the PC!

  1. I lost interest in this around 2015 and just watched a playthrough on YouTube. Cool that it’s coming to PC but it’s way too late.

  2. I think it will be great with Mouse and Keyboard at 4K, also maybe another exclusive from them (Spiderman) soon?

      1. How is Steam DRM different from Denuvo? No buy, pirating it right away. :sunglasses: :ok_hands: :fire: :100:

        1. by all means pirate it, i support it. fitgirl is great. i just don’t mind steam so i only pirate sometimes or just pirated cracked denuvo games. and while steam can be seen as drm, it has offline mode and too me more stomachable. denuvo is just dogshit that can f*ck up games (injustice 2) and can’t let you play offline.

piracy and gog all the way. sometimes steam. never other drm (denuvo)

  3. Good. Very interesting find ! Seems Microsoft doesn’t seem to have any issues if this game also comes out on STEAM.

  4. xbot specter on suicide watch.
also he will suicide twice when he finds out i’m going to pirate it. no shekels for microshaft.

    1. “i’m going to pirate it” – dagoat

I know that you will pirate this game. Everyone always pirate all games on Steam. People like this shop only because have weaker protection than Windows Store, Origin or Uplay.

But there are also good news – it will be 2160p 60fps on Xbox One X

      1. “Everyone always pirate all games on Steam”

Do you even think before you start typing? That statement means that no one ever buys games from Steam.

You have taken the ignorance of KIM and added it to your own ignorance and created a wad of ignorance beyond measure.

      2. Where are the sequels xslvae. No Ryse 2, No Quantum Break 2, No Sunset Overdrive 2. Why ? Because all you xslaves do is lie on the internet and most of you dont even own an xbox. Speccy show us your Xbox One X and dont fake em like you did last time with your other troll account.

  5. Sweet! Microsoft didn’t lock this behind the Windows Store, which is a fantastic move to do. Can’t wait to try this game out since it seemed like it was a solid game back when it originally came out.

        1. Check Digital Foundry… on PS4, PS4 pro and Xbox 2013 this game looks really bad and have framerate below 30 fps. Only on Xbox One X framerate is stable 30 (with single exception in one cinematic)

          1. SO following that logic, every game on earth that has been released on consoles and and pc are EXCLUSIVE to pc because they run in 4k/144hz ?

Cmon man. Your argument doesn’t make the game EXCLUSIVE. What you’re saying isn’t facts, it’s personnal opinion, which apprently, no one likes in here.

          2. Check Digital Foundry review on YouTube. Do you really want play RDR2 with blurry image with framerate below 30?

Google on YouTube: “Red Dead Redemption 2 PS4/PS4 Pro vs Xbox One/Xbox One X – Every Console Tested”

          3. Are you a bot ? LMAO, i don’t want to play anything that is “stable 30fps” that’s garbage. Now don’t bring that “the eye can’t see blabla bullshyte” it’s also garbage. RDR2 will be enjoyed best on PC when it comes out and not before that on Xbtoaster or Pshytesubperformance.

          4. Sp4ctr0 Spencer posts at this PC-exclusive site about how his Xbox console is arguably superior to Sony consoles. Go figure!

Perhaps he thinks that by posting about another game in this Sunset Overdrive thread it will divert attention away from the butthurt he’s feeling as a pro-Xbox and pro-Windows 10 Store fanboy. It won’t!

          5. If the XboneX is faster then yes it’s a given that it has a better quality than the ps4’s version.

          1. Sp4ctr0 Spencer is the unwanted illegitimate love-child of a twisted experiment at Microsoft HQ involving Bill Gates, Don Matrick, Phil Spencer, Satya Nadella, Steve Ballmer and Clippy!

          2. OMG Clippy’s child! It suits him pretty well.

Same IQ, nevertheless Clippy was useful sometimes…

          3. To be honest, i don’t care about the youtube channel.

What is interesting is on the upper right corner of the “vid” in this screen capture…

          1. Hilarious! The continued ribbing about his username a la Sp4ctr0 Spencer over many months plus the comments ridiculing him in this comments section finally made him flip out, lol.

His new username is pure ‘console wars’ peasantry. Jesus wept.

          2. The funny thing he suddenly dissapearin in these type news ROFL. I think he is having a stroke for his girlfriend Microsoft cheated on him.

          3. Haha, true that. I’m still recovering from the shock that he understands the number six is greater than the number four. Nothing gets past these Xbots!

  6. This game better be free to play because I’ve already spent all my grandma’s gifted money on Fortnite vbucks and Clack Bocks IV skins. Worst case scenario the devs could just add some microtransactions to justify the f2p tag.

    1. yes, i always said that microtransactions are best way to reward good devs and publishers like EA and Konami. best thing that happened to game industry by far after denuvo.

  7. So much for the Xbots and the “either way you are giving your money to Microsoft” claims. It wasn’t the case with Dead Rising 3, Ryse, Cuphead or Recore’s PC releases and it still ain’t the case here.

Now, how is a Nextbone going to do next gen when all its launch games are available BETTER on the same day on Windows 10/11 and later on Steam? Will XboneX style 2 million units after 12 whole months sales be enough for a next gen console to survive?

      1. And you are an unknown being to me. Why even comment to me??? Thanks for avoiding the issue I brought up though with a petty excuse style comment directed at the person, always a classic.

          1. I know it hurts you but he is 100% right.
PC + PS4PRro and you have the MOST games + the BEST games.

Xbox is useless, no point in buying it at all.
You can pony him all day long, it wont change the fact.

          2. Keep deflecting xtard, everything he said and I are facts, unless you can prove otherwise.
