Square Enix has just removed the Denuvo anti-tamper tech from its HD-2D Remake of LIVE A LIVE. LIVE A LIVE was released in April 2023, meaning that it took Square Enix almost six months in order to remove it.
Square Enix is one of the publishers that has been constantly removing Denuvo from its titles. For instance, SE has removed Denuvo from The Diofield Chronicle, VALKYRIE ELYSIUM, TRIANGLE STRATEGY and Forspoken. Moreover, both Octopath Traveler and its sequel no longer use it.
In this RPG, players meet seven heroes, each with their own unique abilities and lives to live across different time periods. Players will experience their stories in any order they choose, uncovering shocking developments along the way.
It’s also worth noting that Square Enix has released the PC demo of this RPG on Steam. Those interested can go ahead and download it from here.
Lastly, the remake features remastered music from original composer Yoko Shimomura and produced by Takashi Tokita (the director of the original game).
Have fun!

This thing with denuvo is the same as Rambo The Video Game having denuvo. No one gives a fück!
Took ’em long enough
6 months
True. I’ve never met anyone online that did like Denuvo. The only ones supporting it are attention-seekers trolling to cause a disruption or the occasional person that really hates piracy and for all we know even they could be getting paid by Denuvo to post Denuvo is good for PC gaming cr*p sometimes on websites. Companies do things like that to promote their product. They call it Marketing.
At the end of the day piracy always has had it’s place and always will have it’s place.
capcom and square enix rmeoves denuvo, ea and ubisoft does not, remember who to buy games from and who to not buy games from.
Well, I shall refrain from making any purchases from them. Piracy ftw.
remember when they forgot to update the domain registrar of the check servers so many denuvo games didnt work so some devs removed it? This is how ace combat dropped denuvo.
good. now remove Denuvo from actual games for adults. not this weeb pixelated vomit shovelware made for a lobotomized generation of mentally ill nippon-cultist degenerates
You alright friend? Seem like you got some anger there.
I felt better after writing that comment my weeb friend, yeah
So what was it?
It sold so well they removed it trying to get some extra sales
or
sold so bad they are trying to recpup some of the cost.
almost all devs drop denuvo after few months, denuvo is there to protect early sales as vast majority of games have 80-90% of lifetime sales in first month.
How do you even pronounce the title?
Its not for you to like it, its for boosting and protecting early sales and like it or not was confirmed to work very well in that regard thats why everyone is using it. Shame it also heavily affects games performance but they dont care about that as people no longer have any standards and will buy anything.
“It’S nOt fOr YoU tO LikE It” No sh*t? I thought we were supposed to marry it.
It IS a Snes game. Well, originally anyway.
You have no standards you bloated sand monkey, stop larping.
