Sid Meier’s Civilization VI is currently Steam’s best selling title and it appears that Firaxis’ new turn-based strategy game has sold one million copies in just under two weeks.
Sid Meier’s Civilization VI was released on October 20th and as we can see below, it has managed to sell one million copies.
This obviously does not surprise us. For the record, Civilization VI is right behind Sid Meier’s Civilization: Beyond Earth; a game that sold 1.47 million copies and had a free weekend.
The best selling Civilization game to date is Civilization V with 9 million sold copies, so it will be interesting to see whether Civilization VI will be able to come even close to that number.

Well deserved.
i’ll probably grab it when the first expansion’s out.
good to see game without extensive DRM doing that great
Denuvo is not DRM. Steam is DRM. Denuvo is just anti piracy solution that needs DRM like Steam to work.
thats justs emantics and depends on your definition of DRM 😉
and the fact denuvo has its own authorization servers pretty much fits most of them whether or not Denuvo’s marketing team likes it or not
IT WILL SELL 20 MILLION COPIES IF THEY RELEASE IT FOR STORE
omfg lol.
Not a bad game. If only the would give the AI a serious overhaul
I wonder how Cossacks is doing, though these days my hopes for RTS games selling more than TBS games is limited. I really wish they would come back in a big way to become successful and popular again =/.
While its a good game… and it sold well ( sweet news, its a great company, it deserves the money!).. i just couldn’t get into it. I love 5, and i put more than 1500 hours into it. I played 6 for about 30, and i couldn’t wait to delete it. The interface, gfx.. and some other small changes just annoy me. So sad, cuz Civ 4 and 5 were sick games.
I hope they do something different for 7.
Do you smell that it is waikor’s butthurt.
with this AI game just so stupid easy for me
D@mn.. that’s impressive. Lately it seems even big franchises haven’t been selling as well as their predecessors (See: RotR,ShadowWarrior2,DuesEx) Civ VI has come out the gate swinging already. Still a ways to go to reach the nearly 10million of Civ V, but then that had 6 years between sequels.
