Ys Net has announced that Shenmue 3 has been delayed until November 2019. The game was originally meant to come out on August 27th, however the team announced that it needs a bit more time in order to further polish it.
As Yu Suzuki and Deep Silver stated in a new Kickstarter update:
“Whilst almost ready, the game simply needs a little more refinement before being truly finished.
We feel that the extra time we have will help us deliver the true Shenmue experience players around the world deserve.”
Shenmue 3 sees the eagerly anticipated continuation of the epic story-driven saga in which players take control of Ryo Hazuki, a teenage martial artist, determined to unravel the mystery behind his father’s murder and to exact revenge on the killer.
Players will explore a vibrant, colourful open world, meet intriguing characters and endeavour on a cinematic adventure which will take you further into enemy territory and deeper into the mystery of the Phoenix Mirror.
The game is powered by Unreal Engine 4 and is currently scheduled for a November 19th release!

This is a bad release date for this game. This is the same day Hitman 2 released last year and it did not sell great. Shenmue 3 is going to be surrounded by the Ubisoft game, Call of Duty game, Death Stranding, Fallen Order and who knows what else. August would have been the ideal time to release before the AAA deluge begins. I think it would be better to postpone the release until late January.

pretty sure anyone who plans on buying this has no intrest in those other games with a exception of perhaps death stranding

Shenmue 3 looks…unfinished graphics ash hell,unfinished animations ( looks like a robot ) I can easily see this being mid 2020 lol.
As a guy who owned a Dreamcast and remembered being blown away by the original game, I ended up picking the first two games on the remastered re-release, and well it was something best left to memory. I mean this game is for people who want that nostalgia scratch, but I just don’t think it’s gonna hurt it at all wherever it releases.
