Samurai Spirits, new 3D Samurai Shodown game, confirmed for a Q2 2019 release on the PC

Back in September, we informed you about a new 3D Samurai Shodown fighting game called Samurai Spirits. While SNK did not reveal the platforms for which it will be coming, we are happy to report to today that this new fighting game is officially confirmed for a Q2 2019 PC release.

Samurai Spirits will feature 3D visuals but will retain its 2D fighting gameplay style, will be powered by Unreal Engine Samurai Spirits, and its official teaser trailer confirmed the return of some characters like Haohmaru, Jubei Yagyu, Nakoruru, Earthquake, Galford, Ukyo, Genjuro, Tamtam and Hanzo.

SNK is also working on a new King of Fighters game, King of Fighters XV, that targets a 2020 release. Even though SNK did not reveal any platforms for it, and since KOF XIV has been released on the PC, we are pretty sure that this new KOF will also find its way on the PC.

  1. I remember when I was a teenager that my local Mexican restaurant had a Samurai Shodown and I loved it. People kept pouring salsa into the button slots because they were sticking. I used to think that if I ate enough tacos that I’d become a Mexican, which is why I spent so much time there playing Samurai Shodown, muchachos.

    1. It was a DQ franchise owned by hispanics for me.
They had SF 1-2 to a NeoGeo cabinet.
And all our quarters would be spent there.
Plus the daughter was keen on me so it made it even more enjoyable.
