Remedy is working on four games right now, Vanguard to be long-term service-based multiplayer game

Remedy has announced that it is currently working on four games/projects. The “first game project” is the single-player campaign of CrossfireX. The second project is also a game in the Crossfire universe, though we don’t have enough information about it yet.

Perhaps the most promising projects, however, are the next two games. The third game is an unannounced one that has a team of 20 people. According to Remedy, the project is proceeding well.

The fourth project is Vanguard which has reached its first internally playable development version. Vanguard will be long-term service-based multiplayer title. Moreover, it will come with some of Remedy’s unique game features.

Both of these games are currently in a pre-production stage, so don’t expect them anytime soon.

We’ll be sure to keep you posted, so stay tuned for more!

  1. “Vanguard to be long-term service-based multiplayer game”

    “Cries”…..another of those games?

    “CrossfireX. ”

sight i liked that game back in the early days of f2p. now making it a xbox only game and putting sp on it.

    Wtf?

  2. I think at least every publisher wants that one GAAS, in order to keep a constant flow of money coming in, but I doubt Remedy can do this.

That said, I’ve lost a lot of faith with them in general, after they made that EGS deal.

    1. believe it or not I didn’t find the game interesting, especially the RPG elements added to weapon stats and abilities. it was very bland. it felt and played like a side project rather than a proper AAA release. the visuals were nice if not consistent but everything else was extremely generic. I forced myself into playing the game multiple times in the hope that it might get interesting but I was wrong. I understand people are fond of the game but I’d very much like to know why as I have found no reason. so I for one won’t be interested in a sequel.

  3. Meh, Remedy has got to be one of the shiitiest developers ever, all of their games (Alan Wake, Quantum Break etc) are one of the crappiest games I’ve ever played. It sits alongside Naughty Dog as the most overrated developers ever.

    1. Remedy would have messed it up. Sam Lake would have turned it into a mishmash of average looking live action and generic gameplay. IMO Rockstar at least kept MP alive by improving the physics, reinvigorating the gameplay, bringing a handful of innovative mechanics, an almost as good story line, and great graphics

Gotcha. Off my radar in other words.
