PS4-exclusive Robinson: The Journey is coming to Oculus Rift this January

Crytek announced today that its sci-fi VR adventure, Robinson: The Journey, will launch on Oculus Rift in January. Robinson: The Journey was originally released exclusively for Sony’s PS4VR, but it’s now coming to the PC.

As the press release reads, Robinson: The Journey invites players to step into the shoes of Robin – a boy left stranded on an extrasolar planet in the aftermath of a doomed space voyage.

Accompanied by AI unit HIGS and baby T-Rex Laika, Robin must use his wits to survive in a world full of adventure, secrets, and breathtaking dinosaurs.

Oculus Rift players will feel truly present in another reality as they search for fellow survivors and unravel the mystery at the heart of Robin’s journey.

Crytek did not reveal whether Robinson: The Journey will support HTC’s Vive in the near future!

  1. LMFAO, Crytek make another dumbed down piece of crap for the console peasants and come back begging the PC audience when it sells like sh*t. The game itself is pretty bad, but they had to downgrade the textures to No Man’s Sky quality (or worse) to get it working on Sony’s Fisher Price headset.

  2. Exclusive coming to another exclusive… no wonder Crytek can’t reach an audience big enough to get its investments back…

    1. If they stopped making such horrible business decisions and spreading to platforms that don’t really give them good returns, then they wouldn’t be in the mess they got themselves in.

          1. The first Crysis was great. Everything afterwards was pretty average. Crysis 2 and 3 was decent but it felt more of a tech demo and it didn’t wow me. Ryse looks amazing but it was one of the most boring games I’ve ever played. They also had way too many divisions which was also a mistake imo. They should have stuck to one main team instead of trying to go too big so soon.

          2. Ryse was more like a tech demo.cant say Crysis 2 of 3 tech demo as they had more gameplay features than todays typical fps.

          3. Like not killing, most of the game was like Mirrors Edge (but with Invisibility).

        1. Indeed. Most of the time, their games have gorgeous graphics and good art direction but they just are plain boring games. Ryse was a perfect example of that unfortunately.

      1. Appeal of a big fat cheque implying guaranteed cash quickly flowing in. Or, you can sell your game on different platforms while being sure of its success… like Rockstar…

I’d rather have Crytek go back to making games rather than QTE simulators.

      1. Why is Todd Howard there? I don’t know anyone who would classify The Elder Scrolls and Fallout 3 and 4 with No Mans Sky and Sean Murray… I think that’s a pretty MASSIVE stretch… I think Todd Howard is one of the best as a matter of fact… No accounting for some peoples (your) tastes though…

        1. Probably as a representation for the massive amounts of sh*t ZeniMax continuously rains down upon us.

Regardless, “I think Todd Howard is one of the best as a matter of fact… ”

          LOL.

“No accounting for some peoples (your) tastes though…”

Took the words right out of my mouth.

  3. I saw two console people calling PC people very dirty things. You know what I’m just going to generalize all of them based on these two people.

Welcome to the internet! Where the sh*t will always float to the top. If you cannot stomach people being people, you where born on the wrong planet.

    1. Depends. Does Microsoft own the studio? Then “exclusive” is tandem to “never coming to Sony’s PoorStation.” Does Sony own the studio? Then “exclusive” is tandem to “never coming to Microsh*t’s Xblower, & the PC, outside of PS Now, possibly.

Does an independent company own the studio? Could go either way. Is it a PC-exclusive? The sequel won’t be, “because piracy” (read: greed).

  4. Then it’s not exclusive.

I had a vive and sold it for $700 on ebay.

Vr is sooo cool but need beter resolution and wireless built in and real AAA games.
