PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS feature 3

Playerunkown’s Battlegrounds has been slightly delayed, still targets a Q4 2017 release

When Bluehole Studio launched the Early Access phase of Playerunkown’s Battlegrounds, it claimed that the final build would be coming in around six months. However, it appears that things have slightly changed as the game has been slightly delayed.

Bluehole Studio stated that it is pushing the full launch back a bit from the initial six-month timeframe, though it still targets a Q4 2017 release.

The reason behind this delay? The pressure the team may experience, something that could have a negative impact on the game itself.

As Brendan Greene explained:

“Over the past few months I have done a lot of interviews, and in many of them, I said we hoped to be out of Early Access six months after we first launched. I’ve come to realize that restricting the window to a specific month could hinder us from delivering a fully featured game and/or lead to disappointment within the community if the launch deadline is not met.”

  1. LMAO, yesterday the headlines were about six months and the “matter of honor”. What crap.

    1. At least they are honest unlike many other shady developers and their games stuck in Early Access for many years.

  2. This is it, the first sign that an indie dev having to cater to another two platforms is becoming a bit much for them.

  3. I don’t know what this means. I know what most of the words mean but I’m unsure of the message.
