Pocketpair has just announced that Palworld has sold 12 million units on PC via Steam. In total player count, the game is over 19 million players, with 7 million coming from Xbox. Palworld came out on January 19th, meaning that it took almost two weeks to hit this milestone.
đTotal number of players exceeds 19 millionđ

Palworld is undoubtedly one of the most successful Steam Early Access games on PC. This game has managed to attract a huge audience. Often described as Pokemon with guns, Palworld has more in common with Valheim than Nintendo’s Pokemon games. In short, this is mainly a multiplayer, open-world survival and crafting game.
Now the biggest feature of Palworld is its Pals. Pals are small creatures that look exactly like Pokemon. Some claimed that Pocketpair has exported and used the 3D models from various Pokemon games. That’s false. Then, others accused the team of using AI tools to create those 3D models. That’s also false. Palworld was first announced in 2021 and back then there weren’t any AI tools that could create 3D models/meshes.
Speaking of Palworld, we also suggest taking a look at these other mods for it. Earlier this month, we shared a mod that enables AMD FSR 3.0 Frame Generation. Then we have this cool Spyro Mod. Praydogâs UEVR also appears to be working with Palworld, allowing you to experience it in VR. As for the Pokemon Mod, we’ll have something to share this weekend. Finally, here’s how you can enable some Ray Tracing effects.

All these games released at the same time.
Either no one bought Yakuza LAD Infinite Wealth, or it has terrible replay value (NG+ was locked behind a $20 DLC).
Tekken 8 is not doing any better, losing almost half its players in a few days. For an online competitive game, that is terrible.
You acting like Crapworld and Tekken even released for the same audience…
Pokémon GO also had hundreds of thousands of installations, did you play it tho?
I think we are collectively judging games wrong based on metrics like these.
Millions are still playing Call of Doody, doesn’t mean it’s a good game (objectively, that ended with like Modern Warfare 2 original, tops).
I would even go as far as argue that monetary gain and number of players doesn’t deem quality at all.
Wouldn’t surprise me if both Tekken and Pokemon/Palworld attract teenage boys and have an overlapping demographic.
The more fast-paced, twitchy, flashy and action oriented the game, the younger the general audience and the more it overlaps with console sales. This demographic is also heavily influenced by social media and approval of streamers.
The more text-heavy games, and the more management and tactics are involved, the more the audience skews towards adults.
Enshrouded is likely a slightly more adult audience.
Still fail to understand how rather traditional fighting game and Palworld compare with each other. The overlapping demographic is imo just not there.
If you took Palword and brought it next to say Minecraft, Pokémon or Digimon, now we talking.
As for the Enshrouded, I heard good things about it, but since I am fatigued with the whole “open world crafting” formula, not for me atm :).
*Black Ops 1
I am like “eeeeeh” on that one. I know it has a cult following tho.
Pakimon will always attact children, it’s a known fact.
Nah I don’t believe forms of marketing and outright liars both those devs and this websites hore mentality, 12million is total nonsense. You think a gayme that has so much garbage in it and shenanigans isn’t going to just do a bunch of payola to get the “trusted” media machine to spread its lies? Of course they are. In the age w chatgpt-ai bots this is all just a faf frenzy and everyone including jewannasteinberg here is along for their peice. Disgusting stuff right here.
Pocketpool claims that they have sold 12 miilion copies to gamers that like to play with their balls. Most interesting. Most interesting indeed :p
Is it weird that all the self-identified gays, trannies and furries on Steam love this game?
It’s weird that you care what specific groups of people play, freakin’ incel.
“piracy is killing gaming”
How about you make something interesting for a change?
Too busy with Tekken 8.
