New Insurgency: Sandstorm update adds new map, mode and weapons

Focus Home Interactive has announced that a new update has been released for Insurgency: Sandstorm that adds a new map, mode and weapons prior to the game’s upcoming Steam Free Weekend. This brand new content follows another large free content update in May which also featured a new map, customization options, a new hardcore cooperative game mode and more.

Insurgency: Sandstorm, the smash-hit indie FPS from New World Interactive, is set to receive even more free content this month as players are invited to join the fight in the Steam Free Weekend from June 20th – June 24th.

As the press release reads, this is the perfect opportunity for newcomers to join the huge community of Insurgency: Sandstorm players, who already enjoy Insurgency’s signature style of immersive, team based, high lethality gameplay.

New World Interactive has also confirmed that it has many more free content updates planned for the rest of this year and 2020, including modding support, game modes, maps, weapons, and more.

Enjoy!

Huge isn’t the right word. At peak there have only ever been, at the most, 3500 people playing Sandstorm, same with the original. And I’m talking about between first closed alpha until about a month after release. Right now it’s lucky to get up to 2500 on a Saturday.

Those sounds aren’t from the game either, unless they snuck in complete sound replacements for all the guns. M4 definitely doesn’t sound like that in 1.2 and it didn’t sound like that in 1.3 on CTE.

That video was pretty garbage too. It literally didn’t show any of the new features or changes in 1.3 – no footage of Ministry, no footage of Frenzy mode, not one shot of the two new guns or the new micro red dot. All of it buried under that ridiculously loud music.
