Monster Hunter Wilds new feature

Monster Hunter Wilds will receive its final update in February 2026

Capcom has just revealed that the fourth major update for Monster Hunter Wilds will come out on December 16th. According to the team, this will be the final major update for Monster Hunter Wilds.

Now, while the game won’t receive another major update, Capcom will keep supporting the game until February 2026. As the Japanese company stated, it will release the final update for Monster Hunter Wilds in February 2026.

As Capcom stated:

“The fourth title update will be the final large-scale update for Monster Hunter Wilds adding a new monster to the lineup. But that doesn’t mean we’re done just yet! After Title Update 4, we’ll be releasing patches to improve the stability of the Steam version, as well as releasing a final update in February adding a new Arch-tempered variant.”

Update 4 for Monster Hunter Wilds will add the Elder Dragon Gogmazios. It will also bring new Gogma Artian weapons, tough new Optional Quests, and several improvements and balance changes.

This update will also bring many performance improvements. In fact, Update 4 will include over 100 tweaks that improve how the game runs. These changes affect players, monsters, Seikret, Palicoes, NPCs, the UI, effects, and more. The devs are also making the game faster by spreading heavy tasks across multiple frames, especially for players, monsters, and menus. They are also reducing the overall load by cutting down on unnecessary effects and improving how collision detection works for Palicoes and Seikret.

In January 2026, Capcom will release a PC-only performance patch for Monster Hunter Wilds. This update will add new graphics settings, new CPU options, and new presets to help reduce the load on your computer. The patch will also improve shader compilation, which means PC players should notice fewer stutters during gameplay. Texture loading will be faster, and the update will also include better VRAM usage, helping the game run more smoothly overall.

Then, in February 2026, Monster Hunter Wilds will get even more performance tweaks and improvements. The February 2026 Update will add quality levels (LODs) to the polygon mesh for 3D models. This will further reduce the GPU processing load. The devs will also re-examine memory-related processes to identify further potential improvements.

So, there you have it. By the end of February 2026, Monster Hunter Wilds should run better on all platforms. Monster Hunter Wilds came out in February 2025. This means that it will receive its last update one year after its release. As such, it will be interesting to compare the launch and the final versions.

Stay tuned for more!
