Capcom has announced that Title Update 4 for Monster Hunter Wilds will pack major CPU and GPU performance optimizations. This patch will go live this Winter, though we don’t have an exact ETA on when that will happen.
As Capcom stated, the team will implement a multifaceted plan for the PC version. So, Update 4 will include CPU and GPU related optimizations. Then, we’ll get a second stage of mitigation measures.
When it came out, Monster Hunter Wilds was a mixed bag on PC. It was also a mess on consoles. So, no. The game’s awful optimization issues weren’t exclusive to PC.
My biggest gripe with MHW was its disappointing visuals. At times, the game could look awful. Not only that, but performance was almost the same on Ultra, High, and Medium settings. Plus, there were various stutters here and there. It wasn’t a disaster. But, for a game using the RE Engine, it was a bit disappointing.
In March 2025, modder Praydog released a mod that fixed the game’s stutters that were caused by its anti-tamper tech. I don’t know whether Capcom has fixed them in previous patches. But if you still encounter numerous stutters, you should at least try this mod.
Monster Hunter Wilds came out in February 2025. And, since Title Update 4 will come out in Winter 2025, we might not get it until January or February 2026. Thus, we’ll most likely include it in our Top 10 Worst Optimized PC Games of 2025 list.
Stay tuned for more!
To our hunters playing #MHWilds on PC, we’re committed to listening to your feedback and improving both performance and stability of the game.
Although we will continue to implement gradual improvements in the weeks ahead, we are targeting Free Title Update 4 this winter to…

thats impossible they said they optimized it as well as they could.
I think the game does look really good but not significantly better than worlds or even rise in some aspects and definitely not good enough for all of these performance issues that people are reporting and displaying. I don't think you just write off the open world concept for the engine because it's a problem that you hire engineers to solve but it's a shame that they were fine with it launching in such a state as well as leaving the other big REX game in it's own sorry state after all this time.
You can start by removing that cancerware DRM. Nobody is pirating this piece of s**t at this point.
"Announced for winter"
They should have put preorder on that, good lord…
So in other words, the game should not have been released on PC until this winter.
The game looks and runs worse on consoles. It's not a "PC" issue.
So basically this game should not have been released ON ANYTHING until this winter at the very least. I agree with this entirely.
Game runs perfectly fine on console without issue. idk what they're on about

I'll believe it when I see it.
