Marvel Rivals is a new hero team-based PVP shooter, PC requirements revealed

NetEase Games has just announced a new superhero team-based PVP shooter based in the Marvel IP, called Marvel Rivals. Marvel Rivals sounds like an Overwatch clone with Marvel’s superheroes. And below, you can find its debut trailer, as well as its official PC requirements.

In Marvel Rivals, players will assemble an all-star Marvel squad, devise countless strategies by combining powers to form unique Team-Up skills and fight in destructible, ever-changing battlefields across the continually evolving Marvel universe. Or at least that’s what the game’s description claims.

The game will have characters from Marvel’s franchises, such as Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, X-Men, and many more. And yes, each character will have his own superpowers.

Players will also be able to coordinate unique combinations between characters. For instance, you’ll be able to ride on Groot’s back as Rocket Raccoon to take on your enemies as a dangerous duo, unleash Gamma energy as Hulk to charge Iron Man’s armor for massive damage.

It’s also worth noting that the game will have a fast-paced gameplay loop and will feature destructible environments. Players will also be able to take cover to dodge attacks or use makeshift weapons to strike down enemies.

According to the PC specs, PC gamers will at least need an Intel Core i5-6600K or AMD Ryzen 5 1600X with 12GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 or AMD RX 580. NetEase recommends using an Intel Core i5-10400 or AMD Ryzen 5 5600X with 16GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 (Super) or AMD RX 5700-XT. The game will also require 70GB of free disk space.

Finally, there is no ETA on when Marvel Rivals will come out.

Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

    1. for sure the f2p mavel games definitely have their crowd. I don’t think this will pull me off R6 but with gigantic also coming out soon and rogue company being radio silent itll be interesting to see which new 3rd person hero shooter comes out on top.

  1. Looks interesting. I’ll give the free test a try but it’ll really come down to how the game feels. OW shows as long as the gameplay isnt horrific the game can sustain in spite of mismanagement, controversy and over monetization.

  2. Man, this industry is in such great shape. Look at how creative and innovative it is.

Who could have ever thought we’d see a pvp shooter in 2024? Nobody. Not even you reading this comment.

Gaming has never been better. A pvp shooter…. absolutely genius.

  3. Great game for 14-year-old boys who will be spending their parent’s money on microtransactions, become social recluse and develop ADD. Basically, the Fortnite audience.

The Chinese government and China’s NetEase knows very well what these addictive games do to the Western populace. That’s why China develops them for a Western audience and why they ban them inside China where they don’t want their boys to grow up as illiterate morons.

    1. LOL, I’ve heard the exact same sentiment from fellow Chinese colleagues working on Linux!

There’s a reason why the Chinese government is calling videogames “the new opium for the masses”.

Seriously, the emerging rise of China in the technology sector is both fascinating & frightening at the same time.

For example, the number of Chinese Linux kernel developers seems to be growing exponentially each & every year…

Somehow I always have to think about this when noticing yet another new Chinese sounding name in the Linux kernel developer credits:

      1. Sadly we’ll probably never seen another game from a major publisher where China is an enemy. Too many of them are invested in trying to sell games in China these days, and don’t want to risk upsetting the CCP.

          1. the other favorites being the “bad guys” in the theater, nkorea, iran, whoever they build up as a threat to further their plans.

          2. And 1940’s Germany and Japan. But that still leaves some good story lines on the table, and reduces the variety of action games with modern settings.

    2. And it’s all over really, doing things virtually from a distance just isn’t the same for instance school and work. I’m not saying they aren’t useful options but there’s something about being at school every day and having a book and sit at a desk rather than online class, that is part of the learning process that’s missed. Work is the same thing other than very specific types of work doing it all online remotely isn’t the same. Games and such are just more of it for training the young to this sort of thing, everything is virtual and disconnected. AI isn’t going to make it better, it’ll write papers, grade papers, make art, write books and more.

  4. I saw this and I immediately thought, DOG Shxt. Sad part is, it’s going to sell like hotcakes. I believe the Spaniards would say, EL Trash.

  5. Is the Marvel Universe even relevant anymore? All of their movies and shows have been vastly underperforming. I doubt this Overwatch clone will be a huge success either.

  6. So these insanes for real are still “able” to make a game for a specific region and target audience, so long as it not for the “Whites” of course.
