Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 feature

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will support 60fps only on PC

Warhorse Studios has confirmed at the Game Access event in Brno that Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will be locked at 30fps on consoles. Both PS5 and Xbox Series X won’t have a performance mode. As such, the only platform that will be able to run this upcoming RPG with 60fps will be the PC.

This isn’t the first current-gen only title that does not support 60fps on consoles. Dragon’s Dogma 2 and Hellblade 2 were also locked at 30fps. And, console games should realize that this trend will continue for the base models. My guess is that the PS5 Pro may be able to provide 60fps in games that are GPU-bound. In CPU-bound titles, though, a 30fps may be necessary even for it.

Warhorse Studios has also stated that the Xbox Series S has limited the game’s scope. According to the devs, the sequel will be 25% bigger than its predecessor. That percentage would be higher if it wasn’t for the Xbox Series S.

To be honest, I don’t really mind this. I personally don’t want massive empty open worlds with nothing to do in them. What I want is a world packed with NPCs and dynamic events, a world that can feel alive. Oh, and I want more physics and environmental interactivity. These are more important than a map area that is 70% bigger.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will come out on PC later this year, and it will be using CRYENGINE. Plus, the game will support both NVIDIA DLSS and AMD FSR, which should make it run faster. However, there’s no word yet on whether it’ll also support Frame Generation.

For what it’s worth, Warhorse has not yet shared the game’s PC requirements. However, last month, Daniel Vavra claimed that the NVIDIA RTX 4080 Super can run Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 with 60fps at 4K/Very High Settings. So, this should give us a small idea of how the game runs on a high-end PC system.

Stay tuned for more!

lmao, xbox sucks, that being said having a world map means you need to fill it with stuff so i dont believe this is the case.

  2. always weirdchamp with the Series S. You have the console that outsells its big brother 3 to1 and kinda champions that people just care about having good games to play as also evidenced by Steam Deck bestsellers being outside of its specs and Switch being outdated on release almost 10 years ago now being the number one console of the generation. then you have developers like these and larger who argue that low specs are holding back development. Maybe its the xbox demand of feature parity but at this point it seems like something they need to fully abandon.

  3. Honestly, besides "Hurr Durr PC master race", the real problem is that they or the publisher want to keep a certain visual parity between what you're gonna see on $500 consoles and on $3000 computers, and that is terrible for any game, because if they wanted, they could very well smartly tune down the graphics settings in areas where it's not too important and cap the resolution, and they could reach 60 and provide a muuuch better gaming experience. But no… Because graphics comparisons.
I'd choose a million times mid-high (not ultra) at 1080p settings at 60, over higher visual flair at 30.
