New World Interactive announced today that thanks to the success of Humble Jumbo Bundle 3, Insurgency has managed to hit over 1 million of active players (in total). Moreover, the dev team revealed that the game’s community has been doubled since November 11th.
New World Interactive’s ARGYLL wrote on the game’s official Steam forum:
“We’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who purchased Insurgency through the bundle and shared their extra keys with friends. Our community is strong because of your enthusiasm for the game.”
Insurgency is the follow-up game to the award-winning Source mod, and is described as a highly competitive and unforgivingly lethal, striking a balance between one-life gameplay and prolonged action.
The team also acknowledged some issues that were caused by this sudden increase of the overall player count, and is currently working to resolve these issues.

Don’t know how they did it, but the sound assets in this game are fantastic. In my opinion only BF3/4 has better audio.

One of my friends gifted this to me. I may install it at some point.
I may have stopped playing competitive shooters if it wasn’t for this game. It’s just so awesome, everything is so done just right. It’s so visceral and immersive. If you’re looking for a good mix of tactical/realistic and arcade gameplay don’t look further. The game also has regular free content update. The last one added nightime gameplay with one of the best nightvision effect I’ve seen in a game.
Oh great, even more counter strike bs! Wonder how many cheaters they have there.
