Gearbox Publishing has just announced that its upcoming sci-fi RTS, Homeworld 3, has been delayed until May 13th. In addition, the publisher has updated the game’s Steam store page, revealing that it will be now using the Denuvo anti-tamper tech.
According to Gearbox, this delay will give Blackbird Interactive to further polish the game. Homeworld 3 was originally scheduled for a March 8th release. So, we are basically looking at a two-month delay.
Gearbox has also released a demo for Homeworld 3 on Steam. During the Steam Next Fest, PC gamers will be able to download and play it. This demo also supports Ray Tracing, so you might want to give it a go if you fancy this tech. Moreover, the game supports NVIDIA DLSS 3 and AMD FSR 2.0.
Homeworld 3 will be the true sequel to the legendary space-faring RTS. The game promises to return the series to its roots with a gripping continuation of the story, fully 3D combat, and the classic RTS elements you expect.

At least they list denuvo as included a few months before rather than a few days. I’m suprised at only 40gb needed. Que up those 3-4 helldivers articles and it’s marketing sales numbers there johnnyboi lol

Tried the demo, dunno what to think really.. upgrade in some areas while downgrades in others. Will wait for the game to release and see what peeps think mainly about the single-player part before even speding a dime…. the demo had basically nothing of the single player story in it.

I’m not into space sims. But people have spent millions of $ on Star Citizen.
The demographic for space sims are males with a lot of disposable income who are incredibly unlikely to be pirating games.
Do you really think it’s a good idea to annoy these legitimate customers who are known to spend a lot of money on space sims, and are likely more than willing to pay $59 for your game?
These developers are just DRM jerkoffs at this point.
When it comes to Star Citizen the level of absurdity is insane.
The game has been in development for almost 12 years and is still in Alpha phase. Squadron 42 is still nowhere to be seen.
According to their website they are now up to $663,474,544 in fundraising and have over 5 million members.
In 2023 they took in another 104 million dollars.
They now have a DLC package that costs $48,000 which includes every ship in the “game”.
It’s not a space sim, it’s a RTS. The cultist Star Citizen weirdos likely won’t be buying this in the first place.
