Heroes & Generals surpasses 8 million registered players

Danish developer and publisher Reto-Moto announced today that its World War II MMO first-person shooter, Heroes & Generals, has just passed 8 million registered players. In addition, Heroes & Generals also celebrates today its second year Steam Anniversary.

Martin Pollas, CEO at Reto-Moto, said:

“We built Heroes & Generals from the ground up to be a unique World War II game, and to surpass 8 million players is an achievement that makes everyone at Reto-Moto proud. To see players having fun in the game every day is a continuous inspiration to the small but very dedicated team of game developers at Reto-Moto striving to make the game even better.”

During this past year alone the game developers at Reto-Moto have not only added new weapons, vehicles, tanks, uniforms and implemented a brand new Squad-system to Heroes & Generals. They have also made 12,716 tweaks and improvements to the game and squashed 3,137 bugs.

Martin concluded:

“Two years ago we were one of the first 10 games to be greenlit by the community on Steam – that was an important event for the company and the game. Being on Steam has been instrumental in growing the player base and strengthening our very engaged community. We look forward to keep on improving the game and bringing more content to players.”

  1. Only 58% of the players rates the game positively, though.
But yeah, every publicity is good publicity, especially money-wise.

    1. Thats because there is a lot of reviews that comes from the past years, so… No matter how they have fixed stuff, people wont change bad reviews because they dont care …

  2. I tried it and didn’t like it, The game feels awful to play and hasn’t changed much in all the years its been in alpha, beta & open beta.

  3. THe game isnt perfect, but its far better than many AAA sh ! t Activision and Dice has been releasing these last years. For new players is quite hard because you star with the worst weapons of each faction, of course COD and Battlefield players feels frustrated because the SVT40, Garand and the Gewehr arent as arcade’ish as they are in AAA games.
Actually you have to got talent for FPS; know how to play in team and use your brain to get some kills and level up faster, so, of course, its not a game for everyone.
Aside from that, Reto has been adding for years, weapons and vehicles, in terms of content is more complete than any DICE game.
Sadly, for the me, the thing who ruins the game is this F2P/P2W system, I would prefer the game to be full price with DLCs, instead of buying gold or warfunds.
