Microsoft and 343 Industries announced today Halo Wars 2. Halo Wars 2 is being developed by 343 Industries and The Creative Assembly, and is described as an exciting new strategy game packed with fast-paced action, massive battles, and an all-new Halo story. Halo Wars 2 is coming to Windows 10 in fall of 2016, and you can view its debut trailer below.

This is a good one. But most of us would still prefer playing Halo MCC and Halo 5 on PC as well.
They just showed they don’t give a f’ about PC gaming.
A good one? the first oen was a ridiculous atempt at RTS. This is MS trying to say “see we are giving you Halo”. LOL right…
Not the same devs so no need to compare it to Halo Wars 1.
its an RTS for consoles, and yes, you can/should always compare to the previous game, since its the only thing you got on the IP.
WTF is this ? I want MCC not this strategy bullcrap.
Spoken like a true peasent. Strategy games have way more to offer than FPS games. Also, the Halo storyline went down fast after 3.
That’s only your opinion though..
Not an opinion on the peasant thing. It’s fact. Go back to consoles if you don’t like it. When did you jump to PC? 6 months ago?
Reading comprehension fail. I said it’s a fact he’s a peasant. P-E-A-S-A-N-T there I spelled it out for you.
Jesus Christ, times like these im ashamed of being a PC gamer, you are acting like a 10 year old. Can’t someone enjoy BOTH FPS games, and strategy games? He is a peasant because he wants to play Halo FPS on PC? Someone takes this PC Master Race bullshit too seriously.
DOOM, WarCraft II, and Medal of Honor (the old one). The only games I ever completed.
FPS and RTS belong to PC.
Is that why millions of copies are sold in console form? Idiot.
A Disqus stalker? And so gracious, too.
Perhaps reading isn’t your strong suit.
Perhaps taking on constructive criticism isn’t yours.
You wouldn’t know, since what you offer is neither constructive nor critical.
We will most likely get both TBH…
F##k this sh#t I need halo 5
Man I love Creative Assembly. More RTS is always a good thing to spark interest in the genre, in the age of Mobas even if you don’t like dumbed down Console centric RTS. And Since CA is developing it, I’m going to check it out.
People complain about AI in Total War but there will always be issues with the AI in a game like Total War, just like there are bugs in open world games. CA has some really talented devs and I love what they did in Alien: Isolation. Best AI in a long time.
not bad, only thing that makes me vomit about this announcement is win10 exclusivity
Windows 10 is awesome, ugrade if you have not already.
it’s utter s**t, it’s more like a NSA device who wants to monitor you and do whatever it wants to your data however it pleases, i have it but still using win7. i even disabled windows update services, couldn’t find a way to disable that cortana bulls**t. good OS or bad OS that exclusivity for a game is s**t.
What do have to hide?
ten giant nuclear bombs in my desktop. in your book, asking for more privacy means hiding something ? or not wanting that cancerous exclusivity is a bad thing ?
I’ve turned everything off but you can do this before installing Windows 10, there is a custom option. The only app I have running is the weather app in the start menu.

IMO we need as many gamers as possible on 10 so dev’s care more about Directx 12 the scarcity cats can just use linux and play whatever lame game with horrible OpenGl performance(wonder dying light is still slower on linux?).
“scarcity cats” jesus christ I really hope linux starts to gain popularity so I can leave windows and not have to see comments like that.
I was simply typing on my tablet to fast, anyways go to Linux leave the OS that can actually get stuff done without EVER having to see the Terminal.
yea I’m sure you get a lot done
it’s ok but can’t they make DX12 compatible with win7 or don’t force people to use win10 if they still want to play the games they like on win7 without exclusivity ?
Yea, why don’t you want to just give away all your rights, why not freedom of speech and the right to have a fair trial, I mean it one right means nothing to you, why should any of them.
Nobody’s forcing you to use Windows 10. And even then you can turn off those data collection features. If you still somehow feel your rights are being violated (which interestingly, aren’t), you’re free to choose not to use the software. Which funnily enough, is one of the so-called rights you can exercise in this regard.
keep believing you can shut the spyware off 😉 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NSAKEY
I have no idea why you’re saying this, it’s not about “rights”, like with an y product you have rights and like any software you agree or disagree before using it.
You can easily turn off everything you just mentioned. You can disable Cortana, P2P updates and everything else. They actually did a good job with the Privacy settings. I’m really starting to like Win 10. I know that, as usual, conspiracy BS about Win10 is the hot sh*t currently, but still, Microsft did a good job with 10. The only thing that bothers me is that it’s still based on the Vista framework.
Bro. I like you but please don’t tell me you fell for that 4chan troll picture.
last i checked 4chan was few months ago. when i was installing it i saw all those apps and agreements and they are more like a give us your everything or by using this os we collect everything we want
That’s every EULA bro, even Valve’s EULA has an agreement they can monitor your gaming habits, moitor your IM’s, send feedback to devs or contact the security forces with your data if they suspect you of illegal material. Even on Linux.
I’m running Dual boot with w10/Mint and used custom settings to get rid of things I didn’t want. You can tick the box and not give them location data or calendar access. I’d rather it be finally the year of linux but w10 is very good (Better than 7 IMO) and you can knock off the privacy no matter what hardcore Linux+GNU heads tell you.
FUD is the worst, honestly. But Dual Boot to be sure so you always have the option of a Linux Distro if you do feel your info is too sensitive.
it officially steals alot more that it should be, it even give access to others to use my updates, i know you can turn them off, i did that but that slider means nothing. also i’m dual booting as well so after 1year M$ don’t F me in the b**t. again, good OS or bad one, that exclusivity and making games exclusive to win10 is just s**t specially if they only sell them in win store cuz it’s blocked by M$ in my country which means i have no choice but to pirate games that i want if they are not going to be avaliabe on steam.
Has it been mentioned anywhere that being Win10 exclusive means not being sold on Steam? Also which country are you from, if I may ask?
tomb raider was said to be win10 only but i guess it will be avaliable on steam but this is one of MS’s first party games i think they might sell it only on win10 but if it’s going to be avaliabe on steam etc… i’m ok with it but again exclusive to win10 is a bad move. iran.
Ah Persia, I’ve always wanted to visit there because of its ancient history (and beautiful women!). Is Microsoft Store still being blocked there as part of US sanctions or something?
:))
yeah because of sanctions, it didn’t worked on 8.1 but in win10 it don’t say the words like in 8.1 (it’s not avaliable in your country) it just load store page before it shows up it close the store window 😀
“I’d rather it be finally the year of linux”
Lol, that joke is so damn old it’s not even funny. Linux will remain at that 1% for the foreseeable future, and rightly so. Supporting Linux-based operating systems for time-constrained audiences such as gamers is a nightmare. Don’t get me wrong, Linux is good for a lot of things, just not gaming. And no, I don’t see SteamOS changing that anytime soon either.
It’s not 1% some say more like 5% or more, that is as old as “year of the Linux desktop”. Microsoft has been slowly losing desktop share since XP, it takes a long time to slow a monopoly. Besides, Linux is used on more devices than any OS. The desktop market is a dead end for Microsoft, this is why we have Windows 10, it’s more in line with Linux distros of update often.
Whatever % more are on 10 then linux now using steam
Doesn’t really matter, Linux is being used more than ever, AAA games are being brought onto Linux on Steam, that never used to happen and rarely did Linux even have proprietary games. Linux is being used, that what it was made for, it’s your OS.
Indeed, the 5% comes up when you consider “all” desktop Linux users. However, I was referring to the Steam Hardware Survey figures for gamers in particular. And like I said, Linux is versatile no doubt, but I do not see it as a profitable gaming platform even with Valve’s push. The only time Linux/Unix has worked properly on gaming hardware is when it has been implemented as a walled garden of sorts, eg. on consoles.
What do you mean by “walled garden”? There is no reason for any game not to work on Linux, in fact Linux has more hardware support out of the box than Windows.
By walled garden I mean a single distro with a unified UI and controlled repository across a multitude of devices. Though the kernel and hardware support is the same, a lot of the other things aren’t standardized. Linux-based machines targeted at consumers generally profit from this, similar to what Apple and Sony have done for their devices (though that’s for BSD and not Linux in particular).
That’s irrelevant, any distro can play the games, it’s just that some distros get official support like Ubuntu because it’s the most popular.
Yes, any distro can “play” the games. But what makes gaming on Linux so difficult is the multitude of distros that need to be supported. Average consumers want something that just works, or something that is supported by an official authority. Linux just “works” under the hood, but it’s very difficult for an average user to get multimedia applications working on any distro that isn’t somehow related to Ubuntu’s philosophy. And the only reason Ubuntu gets it right is because it has managed to create its own ecosystem (essentially a walled garden).
Nothing is difficult about getting media to work at all, Ubuntu/Kubuntu for example allows you to install codecs or proprietary software while you are installing the OS, NVIDIA binary drivers, Flash ect.
Your information is out of date, also other distros have proprietary repositories for the things I’ve just mentioned.
I mentioned Ubuntu, you might have missed that. I also just mentioned why Ubuntu is successful. And as an example validating my comment, have you tried installing mp3 codecs on Fedora? Or pretty much any other distro that doesn’t follow Ubuntu’s design philosophy? Linux is not Ubuntu, just for the record.
I didn’t miss it, point is that if you want a Windows like experience in regard to getting things all working then Ubuntu is for you, in fact more so than Windows, that’s why people pick it. Distros like Fedora are more for the seasoned user who wants an only free software experience by default and proprietary software, the user has to go the extra mile to get it with Fedora.
Exactly, which is what brings us back to my original point, that is the “walled garden” approach is beneficial for the average computer user and gamer when it comes to operating systems. And that’s something that Linux as a whole should strive for if it wants to rise beyond that 5% demographic. Not in terms of openness, but usability.
Funny W10 already beat linux users share with steam
You can disable all that privacy issues hombre. Even cortana.
Been using windows 10 since june and it’s a major improvement in performance over windows 7.
or you just turn them off but in reality they won’t disable. also if you disable cortana it’s still there
It is there yes, but the cortana exe is not running anymore in my pc. I agree that ms by express default options is all bad for privacy, but you can stop those services from running.
Just to mention that it seems like some privacy settings that existed in the tech preview did pass through the final release. Also always best to have a firewall that monitors the app connections.
Just a final note, I want to mention that I never really trusted any corporate software. Some apps I even prefer to develop myself.
Win10 and DX12 is the future of PC Gaming. TBH, I’m glad most people liked it and switched to it. In the long run it is good for PC gaming. A lot of devs are hitting the wall with DX11.
DX12 maybe is the future but win10 i don’t think so, if M$ were less greedy than it is right now it wouldn’t force people to install win10 for DX12
That’s true as well.
It is great. I upgraded to win 10 on friday. I disalbed all privacy settings of course. Cortana is only for Edge but i still continue to use firefox that is much faster. My pc now boots in 3 seconds only while on win 7 it took more than 1 minute to boot and it is 2500k 3,3ghz gtx 970 g1 gaming. Awesoms os. It almost the same as 7 but much faster.
Faster boot, really ? I’ve seen complaints (tech website even) that say win 10 is a LOT slower to boot.
Oh yeah, can you benchmark your games if you gained FPS ? I still haven’t upgraded coz I’m worried the apps (not games) I got won’t work with 10
boot time is the same as win7 or win8.1 for me, i tried batman on it and it’s the same as it was on win7, but good part is almost anything that worked on 7 or 8 is working on 10 too.
Some say they have gained FPS. I wish someone makes a benchmark
I say it take less than 5 seconds now to boot while only i was wating 1-2 minutes. Yes it is much faster. Maybe those who complained has a very old pc or laptop. My mother who has laptop with HD intel graphics card(she use it only for internet browsing and youtube so she dont need the power we gamers need) also didnt see any increase in boot time. But that a crap old laptrop with the slowest cpu ram and gpu at that time that we bought it for her. Well all games worked max settings 1440pDSR max settings without slowdowns .And all of them still works the same well on win10 as they did on 7. I havent done any benchmark yet. But the games are all fully playble that enough for me. I dont want to waste time doing benchmarks again just to see if i gained some fps what it matters is that the gamwes works. Even the most demanding ones like Witcher 3ryse son of rome crysis 3 e.t.c are full playble 1440P DSR max settings. And yes all of my progrmas(Microsoft word 2007 Microroft Access Microroft power point e..tc) all work well on win 10 too. Firefox that i use for internet still works perfectly. VLC that i use for movies and tv series very well. Daemon tools for open iso files works ok. Evrything is well and fine on win10.
Nah, there’s no way all of em got old PCs. One guy’s even a PC tech site owner/employee (Kitguru or Eteknix ) so I’m pretty sure he’s got a decent if not top tier PC (SSD even).
You can disable all of it but clearly you don’t have the brains to understand how to.
no stupid f**k i know how to disable them but trust is the issue here and thats the only thing you get that in my comment ? the i guess you have eye problems too
Wonder why Microsoft won’t just give us the halo collection? I’m still pretty sure who ever wanted it for the xbox has it.
1st one was *peasants 1st RTS* so don’t have the highest hopes for this. We have plenty of RTS on PC already so they have to bring something unique to grab attention. Halo 5 is looking to be Call of Halo so no hopes for that either. MCC I’ll take, but that’ll be Win10 exclusive o.o.
And your point is what exactly? If you want complete privacy being as paranoid as you are, why are you even on the internet?
i did the same however i’m not convinced yet, i even installed it offline however it says my windows is not active yet and it won’t update, ofcourse i only tried it few time and that was the day that win10 came out, maybe server problems etc
Yeah, it can take a lot of tries to active, once you active it on the upgrade, you can do a fresh install and it will be activated when you get to the desktop.
