Halo: The Master Chief Collection has sold more than 2 million copies on Steam in just two days [UPDATE]

It appears that Halo: The Master Chief Collection is selling like hot cakes. According to the Steam Charts, this collection has sold more than two million copies in just two days.

Of course this number includes all the pre-orders for this collection so this should not really surprise us. Still, it clearly shows the high PC demand for this particular franchise. And, to be honest, we are pretty sure that Microsoft is delighted with these figures.

According to the charts, the game also had an all-time player peak of 161,024. Furthermore, the collection has Very Positive Reviews on Steam.

Halo: Reach is the first part of the Halo: The Master Chief Collection that is currently available on Steam. While the game looks dated, it runs extremely well on the PC platform. We’ve already published our PC Performance Analysis article so be sure to read it.

Stay tuned for more!

UPDATE:

Steam Charts has updated its stats, claiming now that the game has sold between 1 million and 2 million copies.

  1. How is steamspy able to get any information since almost everyone’s steam profile is set to private?. can’t get behind this numbers until we get better source or the former get’s explained.

  2. I have gamepass and still decided I’d rather just buy it on steam. For only $10 this game is incredible value for the price. Im half-way done the campaign on Legendary. Having a great time. Honestly if you play just an hour alone I feel like you already got your money’s worth.

  3. Who knew there were such things as legit customers on PC? Seriously, who knew?? Oh right, anyone with an adequate IQ.

      1. Maybe releasing a functional Xbox and X360 emulator for the exclusives, and also porting the remaining Gears 2, 3 and judgement.

    1. I mean, not too long ago, Rockstar.. were even shocked how good PC sales were. Because awhile ago they said some nasty stuff about the platform. Many people (and companies) dont know or pretend to dont know (or are just stupid).

The PC platform is great, the sales are great and you could do anything you want with it. Work, play, and study. Honestly, why would anyone even bother with any other platform..
If you like consoles? Buy a controller and just hook it up to the PC 😛

  4. I’m sorry but that’s just missinformation

Like it says on SteamDB, this data comes from SteamSpy (yeah, that russian that works for Epic Fail, “Steam Spy” fits right on) and it’s just a estimation of the amount of owners of the game, since there’s no way for any person besides the developer/publisher to see the real number of copies sold.

If you want another site that uses Steam’s API to estimate a number, again, not real numbers, since Steam API only check public profiles for owners of that game and since by default Steam profiles are private, those numbers will ALWAYS be VERY wrong, this one estimate 695k owners:

    1. It’s been on the #1 sales and trending list for like 3 weeks…I’m sure it’s closer to 2 million if not more at this point based on that fact. There hasn’t been a single day since it went up for pre-order that it hasn’t been in the top 10 sales list.

This also doesn’t count Windows store sales, of course that would be less but I know 2 people who bought that version myself. Then you should also consider the people it got to subscribe to gamepass which is what Microsoft really wants.

    1. Should be pretty accurate, you can obtain steam sale numbers. They don’t hid them like EGS or any other storefronts.

      1. I hope Gabe is tossing him into a pit of acid and fire. Tim Sweeney lost his marbles about 5 years ago and seems to get progressively more insane every week.

  5. Loser peasant Bizzysgs hiding under the desk, or just disappearing for a whole month to keep up with the therapy

  6. looks like a tin man holding a big scissor shaped dyldo, i’m still confused as hell as to why some people like this absolute trash of a game and franchise.
it’s generic, boring, unappealing, childish and unattractive as hell.

  7. Loved this back in the days, but am not wasting my time playing it again.
Sure it’s a great and funny game, so those who didn’t have the chance to play before will be delighted now. It worth the buy.

  8. But wait… This game was cracked in 1 day by codex. According to The Great Fernando all PC gamers are dirty dirty no good filthy stinking pirates… Have I been lied to? There is no way. I don’t believe this pro PC gaming propaganda. I call shenanigans! All hail console gaming, and hope someday devs abandon PC all together those disgusting so called gamers never buy games anyway.

  9. The Steam Charts is saying “1,000,000 .. 2,000,000” so I think it is BETWEEN these numbers. Playertracker say 715K so… I think around 1M should be good numbers and, well, it is old games, those numbers are VG !

  10. I’m honestly so glad this started off on the right foot (audio issues aside). Hopefully it shows Microsoft that there is a genuine player-base on PC who would love to play their games
